Ive ran out of my beloved H870. I'm fairly certain that it will be impossible to find. I'm considering WC872(surplus canister from 20mm ammo), anyone have any comments? Burn rate /load data...anything, Thanks.

H870

I know how you feel,I have a jug I'm working on and when it's gone... I don't care for Retumbo,It has a ball of fire in daytime in .338.I have a jug of H1000 in reserve to work on,and it seems to be useable in quite a few calibers.

From what I've read you can use load data from H870 directly for WC872 but of course, look around and verify that for yourself.

I hate to tell you this but, H870 is no longer on the Hodgdon Site so they may had discontinued it.

Have you tried Hodgdon US 869?

Ive heard through a lot of sources that US869 is just too slow for the 264. Ramshot magnum seems to be the ticket, though, H870 gave top velocities and accuracy in mine. Magnum seems to be a bit picky.

Ah, I didn't know what you were loading. It really stinks when a manufacturer discontinues a powder you like and have used for a while. It's hard to start all over again...
