Most of my friends know that I am a huge huge fan of FP10. Many years ago George Fennell of FP10 sent me a free 1oz bottle of FP10. Prior to that I had been using Hoppes and BreakFree. Since I've received the little sample bottle, I was so impressed that I've been using FP10 ever since. Fast forward to today. I've gone through two 1oz bottles and about 1/2 of the 32oz bottle of FP10 CLP.

Last week I heard that George is no longer with FP10 and has since designed another formula with increased corrosion and cleaning abilities. I've never had a gun rust during the time I used FP10 but hey I'm a sucker for new stuff. What do I have to lose. I emailed George and asked him for a sample.

I got my samples mid week and tried them out. Cleaning was fast and very efficient. Racking the slide of the GSR feels even smoother with the new stuff and the RIG grease. The 1 oz bottles are very very convenient for range use. He is sending me some other samples to try out as well. Perhaps I'll have them before the next shoot. :)

In the meantime here are some photos of the CLP in action :) I'll post a report after I get my guns dirty :)

I also got a sample bottle but am eager to see some people do some tests. Everyone always talks about the "feel" but I think there's alot of placebo effect with all these miracle gun care products, something that can be measured is where the buck stops. In previous tests I've seen fp10 never stood up to corrosion well http://theoildrop.server101.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=615064&an=0&page=6 and http://www.6mmbr.com/corrosiontest.html I'd like to see if his new stuff does any better. The new stuff is very thick and might be a lubricant that will stay put and I like that it doesn't have a terrible smell but I want to see real corrosion protection from it unlike fp-10.

Got my sample too. Lubed up a 1911, my 220, and an AR and got them all dirty. They ran smooth, I'll have to see how clean up is. I can say that George's reply to my email the sample arriving we both very FAST! Exceeded my expectations.

So do we just email him for a sample? I'd like to give it a whirl. Didn't see anything on the website for samples.

got my sample and it did a good job. I need to get over to TFL and make sure i put up my review of it like i said i would. from the descriptions i got of it, it seemed to me that it lived up to the hype.

I will definately be buying more of this for my gun cabinet.
