I have been thinking of some guns I would like to see, not really practical guns but fun ideas that I think would be interesting and i wanted to know if anybody else had thoughts like this.

I will share some of my ideas first,

    1) a ruger M77 in 5.56 using a mini 14 feed system (i know it would act like a Mossberg MVP but not be able to use as large a veriety of mags but i think ruger would make a good gun out of it, something like a "light scout rifle")

    2) the last one made me think of the idea of a Mini 14 with a M77 feed system (this might be a good one for states like NY or CA, but for me I cannot think of anything that it would do that a normal mini 14 couldn't do better.

    3) a chambering of a Nambu style pistol in .32 ACP. (can't think of anything it would be good at aside from fun at the range but i would still want one.)

I would like to hear any other cool ideas that people have had, maybe if we are lucky somebody will get inspired and make some of them.

There was a thread on this a while back. The title was something like "guns you would buy that will never be made."

It was interesting to see what people came up with.

A Ruger Redhawk with fixed sights and a four inch barrel, as an 8-shot .357.

What a nightstand gun that would be!

I wish ruger would pick up the idea of 22mag in a markIII 22/45 platform. Would also like to see it in 17 hmr. Maybe leave out the mag safety.

At least two ideas I have had rolling around in my head for decades:

    1) Marlin (or the group that owns it) should relegate the Model 39A to classic status (still make and offer it) but scale down the 336 to the same size as the 39. It would be much smoother and much less expensive (little to no hand fitting). Offer it in the 17s as well as 22WMR.

    2) Personally, I think the world needs a good lever action shotgun, especially for slug hunters. Base it on a modern style like a Browning Gold or Maxus or something.

The weirdest thing I want is a Josselyn Chain-belt revolver, preferably built to handle hot loads ( Purely as a safety precaution of course)

Failing that I'd love a Volcanic, those Mare's Leg rifles just don't quite "do it" for me.

I have seen a FAL which was converted to 7.92X57mm which ran on MG13 magazines. The guy who made it took out the ejector block and machined it shorter to open up the internal length of the magazine well.

I have also seen an M1 Garand which was converted to 7.92X57mm. Since the 7.92 case is the same diameter as the 30'06 and the cartridge is a bit shorter this conversion ran on standard M1 clips.

Another weird one was an SKS which had a FAL lower fit to it and ran on Ak magazines. At first glance it was hard to tell what I was looking at.

I simply want a short lever-action, with a properly short frame, that is designed to work with .357 MAXIMUM as well as the usual .357 Mag and .38 Spcl., etc. Maybe some blue and wood, maybe some matte stainless and synthetic...

Is this too much to ask!?

I want a looooooooong barreled revolver. Like the one the Penguin pulls on Batman. (I wanna be able to shoot down the Bat-plane) Longest one I've found so far was 10" .357. If I hadn't just paid the bills, I would have it right now.

I also wanted a skeletonized gun. Like the ones in Romeo & Juliet (the DiCaprio one.) I don't know if it would even be SAFE to fire something with so much metal cut away, but it sure looks spiffy!

A .22 TCM for my Glock 19, I've read the OAL is to long for 9mm mags but... Guess I'll just have to get one from RIA. Also wish S&W would make a j-frame in .327 mag.

A Keltec PMR 30 in 22 LR instead of 22 Mag (cheaper fun shooting). And since I am dreaming, I would love for it to be available in numbers where anyone who wanted one could get it.

Try looking into some of the UK legal revolvers. Those are required to have a minimum of 30cm barrel. That's like 12 inches. They look pretty cool for a hand cannon if they weren't also required to have the stupid looking grip extension to bring them to 60cm OAL. Though i guess the extension would be handy for balancing out that huge pipe.

    Greetings MyGreenGuns
You can get yourself a Dan Wesson caliber .357 frame and add a 15 inch barrel assembly. This route will run near $1000.
There also is a feller making a simple "screw on" barrels that I think are 16 inches. Total cost on this rig would be about $500.

Totally useless, but I'd like to see a semiauto Thompson scaled down to .25 ACP dimensions and chambered for it.

Purely a novelty, but what a collector's item!

    In a scaled-down violin case.

    Woo-hoo!

Just great for a barbecue gun.

Yeah, I love miniature versions of bigger guns. I would love to get a Barret M82 scaled down to .308. Or a .22 Desert Eagle the size of a Glock. Would be cool

Oh man.... What would it take to turn my ruger charger into a thompson look-a-like? I want it?

One idea i've fiddled with in my head...

Instead of a trigger, a firearm using a full hand gripping motion to fire. Some sort of short barrel sticking straight out from knuckles when making a fist. Obviously a short range, low accuracy gun that would be similar in functionality to a derringer.

    Lever action AK.

This is actually workable. I've been pondering it for a bit. I just need to sit down and look at the wording of something in the Chicago AWB as it is a specifically named rifle, but I believe the phrasing only covers it if it is a semi-auto.

The basic idea is to disconnect the gas, lighten the recoil spring, and build a custom grip for it. This custom grip has a mount for the handle, which attaches to a lever which is then attached to the bolt carrier handle. It also has a trigger mechanism which sets it back behind the handle. This can be made to feel indifferent from the regular trigger by using a small spring to keep the trigger/transfer rod tensioned(pressed against the trigger). My big concern is the default stock feeling a bit cramped with where the trigger being moved back a bit.

If not an AK, a FAL could also be fun to do that with.
