Great story, and great deer. It's a very satisfying feeling to take game with ammo you've made on your own. Sometimes it's nice to have a short hunt too!

You look much younger in your Avatar. :D
Nice buck and nice rifle. 03A3 action and stamped trigger guard. What barrel?

Just the stock 2 groove military barrel. It shoots too good to contemplate changing it

Congrats on the nice buck. The old Springfield did the job well.

I hate it when that happens, it cuts my hunting trip short...not really. Last year I shot one as we were driving into our campsite. It was great not having to get up early in the morning I stayed 3 days weather was cold enough to make things miserable but great enough where I was able to enjoy campfire breakfast daily without rushing. For me campfire breakfast is the best a pound of bacon sandwiches with a pot of coffee, than go back to sleep.

    BTW great deer. Congratulations!

I’m sure this is the ideal scenario my wife would have for me every time I go out lol. Congrats!

Nice deer! Something satisfying about putting meet in the freezer with a gun and ammo youve worked over. I rather like getting one right off the bat, means i dont have to stress about it later in the day.
