I'm looking to have a rig built for my SAA. I like Jim Lockwood's stuff but I'd have to sell the gun to afford the rig.
There seem to be a million leather makers out there.
anyone have any experience with Will Ghormley, Wm. Brown, Black Hills Leather, Kirkpatrick, Mshelhart???

I'm looking for a high quality rig, lined, with actual silver conchos or at least nicely engraved nickel conchos.

Any suggestions??

This isn't going to be a low-budget outfit...

Personally the only one on your list that I know is Kirkpatrick. They do nice work, but get a bid first.

The reason my experience is so limited is because I make my own, which isn't all that difficult.

Course for under a couple hundred Ross Leathers out of Florida makes a fine looking unlined rig with Chrome conchos. It is what I use for cow boying as when oiled up a bit and not babied you don't look like a gussied tenderfoot. I HAVE the expensive 25+ year old custom western rigs, both Silver mounted Bar-B- Que duty and mounted Sherrif's posse heavy duty .lined stuff as well as early 70s Hollywood made fast draw stuff. For $150 Ross gives you good made to order handmade leather. Next step up would be $400 or more to get lined top end stuff PLUS what ever precious metal YOU buy .
