I remember seeing an ad for a sort of loop sling with a shoulder rig-like extension designed for EBR/SMG... leaves it pointing down and in a good position to be grabbed and put to ready? anyone know who makes these or where I can get one?

Not it, but if we can't figure it out I'll get the MOUT. I saw it some time in the late '90s. it suspends the weapon below your armpit and has a secondary part that goes around the opposite shoulder to keep the suspension part from rolling off the first shoulder

I like the idea, There are a few things it does I don't quite grasp the the method of function of.... but that's because I browse and post on a Palm... What it doesn't do is suspend the weapon directly below my right armpit. I wouldn't choose dragging the weapon sideways as my primary suspension method. This thing I'm talking about was designed for security agencies, secret service and the like to keep things like an Uzi or MAC-10 in a ready position. It's also capable of concealment like a shoulder rig, but that's not what I want it for.

There are versions of the MOUT that attach to the buttstock, and do exactly what you desire.

They suspend the rifle vertically from your armpit.

OOC, what weapon do you want to sling?
