What 1911's do you own?

I have a Colt Series 80 Commander. Great gun.

I also have a Llama full-size 1911. Believe it or not, it is an amazing piece of hardware. Very accurate and pretty darn well built. I love that gun. I will concede that I may have just gotten lucky with it, but it's still awesome all the same.

Current makes are Kimber, Taurus, Springfield, Charles Daly, and Rock Island. The current calibers are 38 Super, 10mm, and 45ACP. By far the 1911 is my current favorite handgun platform. I am now starting to save for a true high end gun. There are a few custom builds that I have been lookinig at.

2 Les Baer PIIs, .45 1.5" and 9mm, Ed Brown Executive Target, SA Black Stainless Target and SW1911PD Commander w/CT grips.

Shooting the .45 PII at USPSA meet on Saturday. Just started shooting that game, tried it once last year and had fun. I won't ever amount to anything shooting it because I can't run. Old basketball injury to the Achilles. Dr says run only if my life is in danger, and while holding the PII I feel quite calm.

One stage had six shots at 50 yards. The Baer came through like a champ. Kind of funny to see some race guns struggling.

Rob, I think it would look great, but I've only seen the picture that G34shooter posts on 1911Forum.

I think it seriously looks sweet and from what I've heard so far it's been great. Are you gonna Ionbond the .45 or 9mm? Be sure to post pics after the refinish :)

I will do the .45 first. Will probably set it up for right after the first of the year. There will be lots of pictures when it's done. I'm not in a hurry and the shooting weather is still good around here.

Have to go with my Les Baer PII, that makes 6 Les Baer's. We win close the post.

An Auto Ordnance from the early 80's (my first handgun, actually) and an old Springfield Armory. The AO is roundly considered to be a piece of crap. I've put probably 150,000 round though it, though, and it's shot OK. Most parts have been replaced at least once. I think I'm on my fourth barrel, and I'm pretty good at putting in a new spring kit.

I tend to just shoot the old military type 1911s. My uncle has a very nice tricked out Kimber. But I like the old, parked war model 1911 better for some odd reason.

Where's Bambam-31, that'll make 7, plus 1 more (my custom carry) and one more from Rob (his 9mm) , and Rinspeed's TRS, as well as Kamagong's Concept II

That'll be 11. Then we can close the thread :D

2...Both Springfield Armory

#1...4" Champion Model
#2...5" GI-45

I like the night sights and a couple of other things on the Champion, but the GI-45 just seems to feel "right"
