    S&W's site is down at the moment, but I know there's a new 3" 686+ in .357 and I think they're making a 3" 629 in .44 right now. There's also the 3" 60 in .357 that's been in regular production for a while now.

    I'm sure I've skipped a few.

This is what is available according to S&W's 2007 Product Guide:
    J Frame Model 60 in 3"
    L Frame Model 386 Sc/S is 2.5"
    L Frame Model 686 in 2.5" (6 rounds)
    L Frame Model 686 Plus in 2.5" and 3" (7 rounds)

They also re-released 3 versions of their Model 36 .38 Special revolvers this year. You can choose Blue, Color Case or Nickel. (I wasn't sure if you wanted to know anout the .38 Special but it's new this year so I thouhg you might want to know)

Check the gunshows and you might find something to your liking. I had a Model 65-5 with a 3" barrel that was made Double Action Only by the S&W Performance Center. It was a great shooter.

My 696-1 3" is sweet. Only thing sweeter would be a no dash 696. Too bad they don't offer the 696. I would like to see that frame/gun offered in a 5 shot .45 ACP, but I dought that will ever happen. :)

It's that hole in the frame that I don't like. :D

I bet it is a nice shooter though, and you are right, pricey as well.

    This 625 3" would be close. :)

It went for more than I was willing to pay. It would be sweet though. I will have to keep my eye out for one, maybe something where I can work a trade.
