The other night I was loading up a batch of .45ACP rounds with Bullseye powder using my RCBS Uniflow powder measure. I was weighing out the loads trying to nail down my desired 5.5 grains. I finally got it, then weighed about 6 more and got everything from 5.3 to 5.7. This wasn't the first time I've been frustrated with wild charge discrepancies, but it was the last.
I went online searching for what I could do. I was afraid I might have to buy a different powder measure. I discovered the powder baffle (which I'd never heard of!).
I dropped by my local shop, picked one up for $8.99, installed it in my Uniflow, and what do you know - I threw 5.5 grains about 10 times in a row!
So I just wanted to let any other novice reloaders out there who are frustrated with variations in their charge weights know - a powder baffle is a great improvement! (This must sound like the ABC's of reloading to you experts). I suppose you could pretty easily make one yourself, also.
