What About Moderator Actions I Agree With?

Hey, can vBulletin be configured to restrict posting priveleges to specific forums to users with X number of posts or more? For instance, allow only registered users with a post count of, say, 100 to post.

Seems like most of the problems arise as a direct result of someone coming here to intentionally cause trouble.

Since the action is to close threads based upon perfectly good premises rather than delete offending posts, what's to stop people from harpooning (trolling) on-topic threads that contain High Road posts?

I know there are problems in editing or deleting posts, but if closing threads that become infested is the approach chosen by moderators, then I think restarting the same topic is perfectly legitimate.

Sounds like the Whack-A-Mole stand at the State Fair Midway, RealGun!

I have read the "Less than 100 posts" thing here before. I do not agree with that reasoning at all. Not because I fall into that category, but that line of thought is flawed. You are telling someone with less that 100 posts that all of their education, live experience, opinions, and thoughts on a particular subject do not count because they have not posted enough on a particular forum??? I do not think that is is fair or right to judge someone on that basis. May want to rethink that....

Perhaps I am wrong though, as I do not have the required 100 posts here.
