Inhereted these from my father-in-law. I held on to them for a while but need to sell.

Anyone know anything about them or what they might me worth?

The revolvers used to be on sale in the back of magazines in the 60's for 15.95 new. Also known as Saturday Night Specials. Good luck.

I used to have a Jennings. It was a fun plinker, but they really have no resale value. You might want to save them for a gun "buy back" program, you would probably make out better than what you would get selling them.

...that little revolver is the infamous RG10...sold in the 60s for $8 or $10 at the hardware store that was my first job...pulled dozens of them off the streets in the 70s...they killed a lotta folks...last one I saw I took off a kid a coupla years ago at a Waffle House who accidentally fired it in his pocket while talking on a cellphone...if I owned them, I'd wait till the next dogooder gun buyback and go get whatever they were offering for them...neither is reliable for defense or sports use...just a bit of history...

Wait for some "gun buy backs" and you might get $200 or a couple of pairs of sneakers.

Sorry, no. Guns, even cheap ones, are inanimate objects. They can do nothing on their own, so "they" did not kill anyone. The badguy pulling the trigger killed those folks.

LoL David... I'm sure he knows that. A lot of idiots in congress probably don't.

This "buy back" sounds like a great idea. I just created a news google e-mail alert. I hope there is one soon.

Fair market value on the Rohm is probably about $25-50. I wouldn't shoot it either, as they are known to spray lead in different directions. I certainly wouldn't sell it to anyone else, just too much liability IMHO.

You might get $50, maybe even as high as $100 at a buy back.

OTH, I actually saw one at a gun show a few months ago for $175.:what: :barf:

Then again, I just saw an ordinary blued 2" .38 Special S&W Model 10 on Gunbroker for $800:eek:, so I guess some people just like to see if they can take others for a ride.

Gun #1 is a Rohm RG-10. Looks to be missing the extractor rod. Make note of timing, and as long as it times right you should be fine as it doesn't have the line around the cylinder to indicate wear. You should be all right to fire it, but only shoot it until you start to notice lead spatter, then relegate it to dry fire practice.
Gun #2 looks like it's been carried a lot. Might have been smoothed out. Clean it up and shoot the tar out of it. Might have to experiment with ammo as they can be picky about what they eat, but general consensus is it can eat Hi Vel ammunition.

Don't have experience with the RG-10, but do with the 14, 14S, 38S, and 63 and am still waiting for them to lose timing:scrutiny:
My Jennings .22 is a blast and have well over 2k rounds in mine
Fair market value on the Rohm is probably about $25-50.
Nah, I'd say that I'd be happy with $50-60 in an FTF transaction for either
edit
last one I saw I took off a kid a coupla years ago at a Waffle House who accidentally fired it in his pocket while talking on a cellphone
Not the gun's fault for him being stupid... they just don't work that way:rolleyes:

You're right; I was thinking prices a few years ago. Certainly the $175 that I saw though  .

Methinks this kid probably had the gun in a pocket with no holster, mixed in with car keys, a cigarette lighter, etc - and one of these such items got lodged in the unprotected trigger gaurd with predictable results. Same thing can happen with purse carry.

But for some reason I was imagining someone who just couldn't keep their hand off the hammer and trigger.
For some reason pic #3 still refuses to load:(
Oh yeah, and pic #4 is why you don't want to use harsh solvents on these guns, because what happened to the grip can happen to the follower and make it a gummy mess.

You will get more for those guns from a city buy it to get it off the streets spectacular than you will from a gunshop or anyone in their right mind.
Seriously.

Don't laugh, I still have have one of each. Not the best quality but......they shoot.
I used them to teach my nonofficial step kids firearms safety and how to be beginner shooters. If they dropped or scratched them who cared.
They certainly took a beating.

Yes, #1 is missing the extractor rod.

I was wondering what happened there. Makes sense.

More and more confirmation there. It looks like I will hold on to them for a buy back unless someone offers me around $75-80 for the pair but that would hardly be worth paying a FFL fee and all.

I've been away from shooting for 5-6 years now and from the forum for about 4 years. You guys aremaking it very hard to not get pulled back into it! I had forgotten how nice, respectful, and helpful most people into the sport tend to be!
Thank you for the help and advice!

You folks are missing the point. Those are great trading material. Take your time and you can trade each of those for a nice vintage Smith or a Glock 19.

Would give up a nice gun for wither of those you ask?

Just think "throwdown guns" and it will all become clear

Yay, pic #3 is working again.

If I hadn't just spent all available money on my car, I'd do it. Depending on if it's still avilable in a month, I still might.

No reason to give relevance to these Liberal shenanigans!
"throwdown guns"
Dear High Road, forget these words ever existed. They are a blemish on us all:cuss:
