Tomorrow, the Mrs. and I will go to the local indoor range.

    Here’s what we’ll be taking:
    7B234672-0373-4615-95A1-A6A5E130F259.jpeg

From the top, the Springfield XD-45 Tactical. It’s pretty new, probably only 100 rounds have been through it. Tomorrow will be the first time with reloads. (200 gr. flat points and 5.3 gr. of Win231)

Next is my first and favorite, the Ruger Mk. II Target, just cleaned and hopefully extracting reliably now. I may put a red dot back on it; we’ll see.

The next one down is my S&W 19, with its tuned trigger. This is the one my wife likes shooting most. I just rolled some nice easy loads for it tonight; 105 gr. hard cast bullets on top of 4.6 gr. of Win231 in Magnum cases.

Lastly, my S&W 625. (45 ACP) I’ve got ten Moon clips loaded with some 200 gr. semi wadcutter plated bullets on top of 5.0 gr. of Win231.

I hope an hour is enough time to shoot them all AND coach my wife a bit. Maybe we’ll spring for two separate lanes this time.

What will you be shooting and why? Tell us about it.

Monday I hope to get to the range to work with my Tisas 'Tanker' (hate the name, love the pistol).

No issues shooting reloads at the indoor range? I thought that was frowned upon but I don’t do indoor ranges & I’m rained out today so I’ll be reloading.
    Have fun!

The handgun meal will consist of S&W M&P 22 as an appetizer, followed by Glock 17 as a main course, with a side of shield 9. For desert, a slice of savory Glock 21 SF. Who am I kidding, The same boring guns I always train with when I go to the range, more or less.

I need to have CC Pistol day soon, so that will probably be next. The last few were either rimfire or rifle days.

Luckily for me my range is one step off my property in the National Forest. I avoid indoor ranges like the plague. That being said I am going to go sight in my .45 Colt revolvers with some 270 grain loads.

A couple new to me 1911s in .45 acp, a Savage HS Precision in .300 prc to check extraction (The chamber seemed very tight the first time I fired it and I'm hoping a thorough cleaning with fix the issue), a Savage 110 Precision rifle in .308, and a 24" .224 Valkyrie AR we put together a while back to check the pattern at 200 yards.

No range trip is planned, yet, but my S&W Model 17-4, a K-Frame revolver, .22 LR, is the leading candidate. I tend to carry medium-frame revolvers, and, .22 LR recoil is easy on the aging hands. I may well shoot .38 Special, .357 Mag, and/or .45 Colt, too, from revolvers. If it is to be a long visit, well, 9mm Glock(s), and/or .45 ACP 1911(s) might make an appearance.

Yesterday I shot my Marlin XL-7 in 270 Win., my PA-10 in .308 Win, my new Rock Island Armory Rock Ultra FS .45 ACP, my S&W M&P 22 Compact and my CZ 455 .22 LR. This morning was just the CZ 455 in our club .22 match 100 yards off the bench.

Tomorrow is my club's Steel Challenge Match and I'm going to shoot my S&W 617 against the autoloaders. I don't beat many but it's always fun to beat a few of them.

I not sure. I do know at least one .22 LR will be on the docket, hopefully a new-to-me Ruger I can pick up soon.

    Stay safe.

This place I go to also sells reloading stuff, so they could hardly forbid handloads in their range and keep their credibility. :)

Well, I took my Marlin 1894S in .44 Mag out for a test. I had replaced the sights with XS Ghost Ring sights some time ago. Had to try them out. Load was Speer Deep Curl 270 grain over 20.3 grains of H110. Velocity in the neighborhood of 1500-1550 fps. Great accuracy, good groups, and the sights are so much better than the stock sights.

I know what I took the last time, but will figure out what I take next time about 15 minutes before I leave for the range. The M41 goes with me almost every time, so it's likely in the mix. I haven't taken my 10mm 1911 in a while, and maybe take the M57. I'll put at least 3 magazines full out of my EDC, so the .40 EMP4 will go IMG_1907.jpg

My range is fine with reloads, they do ask that you only pick up your own brass, I've only seen them talk to guys who are brass hogs picking up everything in site. Everything I shoot are reloads except for the 22lr obviously. I couldn't shoot my 357 snubby without reloads or would be limited to 38+p, the same with my 9mm Bond Arms derringer, shooting factory loads out of that is hard on the hand. And factor loads out of my 44 mag would be limited to maybe 12 shots before I had enough. My favorite gun to shoot those is the Bisley Vaquero 357 in my profile picture.

First out of the box will be my brand new Ruger Wrangler when I finally manage to get to the range. Others are to be decided on. I never go with just one gun, usually 4 or more. Decisions, decisions, always decisions to be made.

Today I plan to shoot 200 or 300 more rounds through my new Keltec CP33. So far I have fired 350 rounds through this gun and have kind of figured out what it likes and doesn’t like. It does not operate well with any rounds I have tried with projectiles less than 40 grains in weight…as the manual indicates…if one reads it before taking the gun shooting. Ahem!
Anyway, I reeeeally like this new shooter of mine. :D:cool:

Oh, please don't rub it in. Indoor ranges are my only option, and I have to drive over half an hour to get there.

Hahaha! Yes, me, too. If the missus is going, she'll be taking her Bearcat, of course. It's like pulling teeth to get her to shoot anything else. I'll take at least one NAA Earl. I'm really liking my Heritage .22 magnum revolving rifle.

Man, I see threads on these little Wranglers on every gun forum I visit. I bought one while in the process of finding my wife's "perfect" revolver but I've never shot it. Neither has she since I bought her a Bearcat--it's just sitting in the safe with its wood grips and Wolff hammer spring. I gotta drag this little jewel with me the next time I go shooting. A Wrangler, a Heritage revolving rifle and an NAA Hogleg--that oughta be fun!

It took 3 weeks for my Wrangler to show after it was ordered and I am into the second week of it just sitting and waiting. I did check it out and found it clean as a pin and as free of lubricant as a brand new penny. Now it has a little Mobil 1 in the right places and is patiently waiting. Doctor's appointments for the wife and I plus me taking an antibiotic that makes you really not want to be out in the sunshine have kept it confined to the safe. I'm "shooting" for Wednesday or Thursday to be a range day to see how it does.

Edit: I stopped by the LGS for a few minutes Saturday afternoon to chew the fat with the owner and regular sit-arounds and found he had two of the HRR revolving rifles. I handled one and thought this could be fun. Good sense has prevailed, for the time bring at least, and I left without it.
