What are your euro/bare skull mount techniques?

Step 1- skin the head and remove as much or as little flesh as you want.
Step 2- bury up to the antlers and let nature do its work. I cover it with an old plastic garbage can held down with some bricks so critters can't get to the antlers
Step 3- dig it up after 6 months or so.
Step 4-whiten with peroxide if you want it white or don't if you don't want to. 20211123_161523.jpg

The other I mounted myself a few years back. I try to build my own wall mounts, the euro mount is black walnut shaped like a bullet, and has a 277 cal bullet set into it, as that's the caliber used to take it. The other is mahogany from a board I found somewhere.

I did one and never again.

Got the skinned head from the butcher, boiled it in a bucket with a heating element in it, dawn dish soap and borax. Change the water every hour or so and power wash the meat right off. Once the meats off boil again until everything is gone and power wash again. We needed hemostats to take out the meat in the nose and other small areas. For the brain area, take a coat hanger and cut the hook off, chuck in a drill and shove it in the spinal cord hole and chop it all up. Power wash that area out and then boil again with some dawn soap and borax. Once the meats all gone put in a bowel of peroxide for a day or so and then go to the beauty supply place and get their hair bleach and paint it on.

This is fairly accurate to how I simmer mine. Minus the Borax. I will only change the water once in the 5 or 6bhours I boil the skull and I do skin the skull and take the tongue out. It's really not bad at all

I've tried the ant hill thing and had a bunch of them toted off by dogs or coons or whatever. Now I boil. It takes some effort but to me it's worth it.

I skin out the head, remove the jaw and leave the eyeballs. Boil with a cup of washing soda. Then I start picking and use a pressure washer to flush the brain out. I prefer the natural look so I don't bleach the skull. Then I hang it on a skull hooker instead of a plaque.

This is what the skull hooker looks like.
