For me, shooting was the one skill I developed pretty early on, thanks to air rifles and .22 bolts guns, and surplus .22 at Scout Camp (all you could shoot at no cost). When I was growing up, I was never fast, I couldn't hit a curve ball, I didn't enjoy getting hit, I could play some instuments well enough to make the band but not well enough to get anywhere beyond that. I couldn't dance, I couldn't afford a Camaro or Mustang, and I wasn't graced with Mark Harmon's looks. Bascially, I had three or four things going for me. One, I was a good soccer goalkeeper. Two, I could write very well. Three, I could talk about as well as I could write. Four, I could shoot better than anyone else I knew. To this day, it's still one of the things I'm known for.
