I carry 9mm the most, and .45 ACP is a distant second now. Once upon a time, however, I was a dyed in the wool .45 loyalist. My platform of choice was the 1911. Over the past couple of years, however, I've started carrying 9mm because it's far cheaper for me to shoot and since going into business for myself, I find I don't have the fun fund that I did when I was working for someone else.

.40 shield for my EDC , I reload so ammo price is not a huge issue also a G23 gets lots of range time in fact Im heading to the range after lunch today

Carry most often? .380 easily. It's what I have on me when I can't carry a full size gun. If it's not .380, then it's 9mm. I like my .45, but I shoot my 92fs much better.

When the first banic came, 9MM (my only pistol caliber at that point) was completely gone where I live, .40 was available in any flavor you wanted. That was the main reason that I switched to .40 for my main pistol caliber. I have also carried 9MM and .45ACP since, still do the .45, but don't own a 9MM any more.

Couldn't vote, as my most common retirement CCW choice has been one or another .38 Spl snub (and before retirement, it was my most commonly carried off-duty choice).

I've carried issued .357MAG, 9, .40 & .45ACP weapons throughout my career, and I own many guns chambered in those calibers (which I've carried throughout my career for off-duty). I also did a lot of training & practice with all of them throughout my time serving as LE firearms trainer.

Even so, nowadays I tend to favor the smaller, lighter caliber choices. I picked up a couple of LCP .380's in recent years to have as options when whatever jeans/pants I'm wearing may not allow me to slip a .38 snub into the pocket (or if I'm not wearing a light cover garment if I decide to belt on one of the .38 snubs, although I prefer pocket holster carry).

If your poll allowed it, I'd probably vote a split between .38/.380 (unless my daily risk assessment makes me feel like belting on one of my bigger guns, of course ;) ).

Mid-sized pistol (SIG P229, Beretta mini-Cougar): .40 S&W.

Compact pistol (SIG P250 subcompact): 9 mm Luger.

Yeah, I'll get in on this one.
I voted for .45 cal. I carry a .45ACP or occasionally a .45 Colt.
I like the .45ACP because it holds 13 rounds in each mag.
I like the 45 Colt because you don't need the extra rounds.

While I prefer .40 or .45 in a compact or full sized gun I prefer 9mm in a subcompact. 9mm is what I carry most because it works in the smallest, easiest to carry (conceal) pistol I have.

Used to be 9mm (Glock 26), but that was replaced by 380 when I got a Glock 42 (real sights, full-size gun ergonomics, the least recoil I've felt in a centerfire cartridge, familiar operation, 7+1 capacity with Taran Tactical baseplate). I will probably only carry the G26 or G19 when I'm overnight camping. This is the first time I've ever been completely satisfied with a carry gun.
