I was looking at the .280 AI after watching a bunch of Vortex 10 min reviews.
Everyone is spot on with the Euro options, and either the 257 Roberts or AI….
Also, in the beginning the intension was to be an economy build … but in my new (15-18 years ago) copy of ShotGun News I came across some Parker Hale bolts & adjustable trigger, a nice upgrade. Then instead of using the original stock I found a Fagen stock I really liked … another upgrade. As time went on I decided on a Hart barrel …
Instead of buying the tools to headspace it I decided to have a smith do it as I already decided I wasn’t going to do this again.
In the end I had about $900 invested and for the same money could have bought a nicer Kimber 22-250 … but it was a great shooter and a fun project … even though the parts were much more expensive than the project was worth!
Don't mess around and have lots of fun.
Yeah, I'm aware I could go buy a rifle for less. Money isn't really a concern here, I want a project.
