What did you see at the gun shop today?

Sadly a gone out of business ,with a building for lease sign #56 years in business :( . Told Me months back couldn't get inventory ,NO reloading supplies had them on order 2 years NO GO . The main thing he was Pissed off about was lack of Bolt Rifles . Explained to me about how Dads and Son's,Daughters would come in HS graduation Birthdays Xmas , NEW hunting rifle present for the kid . Sadly Guns were too expensive unobtainable NO inventory and Dad wasn't popping down $3K for the newest Gun rag rage in some unpractical hunting caliber . This is the second shop I know of in our area ,as the other fellow sold his business off to somebody . And I'm in GUN COUNTRY with a capital R . Sign of the times apparently :(

One thing I'm realizing living here ,PEOPLE are REAL say what they think and DO what they say .

My LGS has a ton of used Glocks that are price about $50 less than new ones. I don't know why anyone would buy a used gun if it's that close to new price.

I stood at the counter of my favorite GS today. They closed today for good, unless I want to drive 3 hours north to their new location--just might someday. I fondled a .22 rifle, a Heritage Barkeep, and the NEF .32 H&R Mag (post 202 above). I almost went for the NEF. Such a cool gun and .32 H&R Magnum, can also run .32 S&W and .32 S&W longs, the latter of which I have several hundred rounds on hand for my S&W 31-1. Ah but I bought a Bond Arms Derringer just this Monday, and this Wednesday bought a Taurus Modell 66 .357 Magnum with 12-inch barrel, so I thought maybe I was getting carried away. There will be more guns to buy another day at an other GS.

BTW, the Taurus with the 12-inch barrel (post 202 above) is now affectionately named, "The Hockey Stick." That is what they were calling it at the GS and I like the name.

It's killing me..... went to a flea market today and found a Tradition, .50 Hawken with upgraded sites and just needs the stock re-stained and a ram rod for $125.

I couldn't justify getting it due to the cost of everything else I would have to buy to shoot it and maybe even hunt with it. Why must I be tortured so??????

Savage Sporter, Model 23 series, in .32-20, (1923 - 1940-something). Forgot if that's a Model 23-B or a 23-C. Doesn't say on the rifle or the hang tag. Has a nice aperture sight on the rear of the receiver. I already have a Model 23-D which is the .22 Hornet model, and a Model 1922 Sporter .22LR (Transitional model between the model 1919's and the Model 23 series). Needs a magazine but Numrich gun parts has them listed, and finding brass is rough but not impossible, .25-20 cases can be necked up if needed. Trying to downsize the gun collection and then this has to pop up. Perhaps I can rationalize enough reasons not to purchase it.

A Sarsilmaz b6 caught my eye, Again. Noticed it a couple months ago for the first time. Don't know exactly why but I just liked it. $329.
Need to figure a way to tell my wife I have the urge to buy another gun.

I just googled that and it looks like a Browning HiPower and a Glock had a love child! Not terrible looking honestly and for $329 I'd snag one up!

They have a used single-shot 16 gauge shotgun for $190 that is tempting except where in the world would one get 16 gauge ammo these days.

Also saw a beautiful Dan Wesson .357 Magnum revolver they have for about $1000. Out of my price range but a beauty.

A S&W 66 no dash for $650. I didn’t have the cash, so didn’t buy it. I see these going for a couple hundred more, so looked like a no brainer to buy - if I had the cash. But I don’t know enough about them to make one sell for $650, another for $850, and another for $1,050, otherwise I would have called the wife and put it on a card. I’m sure I missed a great buy :(.

Several fun items today, nothing that came home with e beyond some bulk 45acp ammo.
There was a new arrival in the Antiques case--a 1919 Colt Commercial priced at $3500.
There was a cased Colt Deerstalker priced at $2600.
Used rifle rack had a brown-stocked Nylon 66 at $600.

Bulk Winchester115gr FMJ 9x19 for only $15/box. 9x19 silvertip for $13/bx. Shelves decently full of bulk FMJ in most calibers.

Truth be told, I frequent two of the biggest firearms retailers in the country- Collector’s Firearms and Cabela’s. There’s always something desirable. I also hang out at one of the Carter’s Country shops. I’ve been to Bud’s in Sevierville, Tennessee, a few times, that’s a big store!

Well I saw a used like new m9a3 today with a threaded barrel for like 600 I think?? It looked barely shot so idk why someone got rid of it. A small lgs in my town always has wierd stuff like that and sometimes their prices are not very good but then sometimes you see that m9 for 600(I don't remember the exact price, I should have taken a picture darn it) and are like well I could get that for my brother as he wants a nice m9 but idk. It even had the 30cal ammo can case thing with it!

Used 20-gauge double-barrel shotgun, made in Brasil and sold by Kmart. They tagged it for $190. Not sure what the value is but it is tempting. Maybe next week if it is still there I would offer them $175 for it. Looks about like this one I found online:

The 20 gauge is gone. Should have grabbed it Friday when I was there, but now they have this beauty, a S&W CS45, which is a 45 ACP DA with a decocker/safety. Fits nice in the pocket too! Tagged at $550. Looks like it was not used a ton. Image is off internet, not actual gun they have for sale. Probably not much bigger than the AMT Backup 45 I was wanting a few months back, and a much better gun.
