• Possible Downtime Alert

I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.

When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

More information is available in this thread.

As always, thanks so much for your patience.

What did you shoot today?

Not today, but YESTERDAY...we had some fun.

But for specifics, I shot my Uberti Birds Head in 357 mag, my Uberti Ranch Hand in 357 mag, my Heritage, (Rossi), 92 lever action in 357 mag and my Stoeger 12 ga. Coach Gun. And fun was had by all. 🤠

No, it’s the Devour from Silencer Central that I bought with the Banish 30.

Live and learn, need a hub compatible.30 cal can. I’m happy with the Banish though, works well, all titanium, doesn’t affect POA left or right on the rifle. I did not compare it to the brake as far as vertical went, just the bare barrel. It was 4 tenths lower with the can than the bare barrel, dead on left/right.

I shot 75 rounds of my 158gr Xtreme RNFP 38spl reloads through a S&W Model 64-8 LE trade-in today at the indoor range. Shot another 75 through a Dan Wesson 15-2 2.5" 357. The DW shot 50 primed with CCI #500 spp with no issue but it was unusable when I switched to bullets primed with Servicios. One cylinder only one fired. The Model 64-8 has a rather heavy but very smooth trigger and very accurate. It also never met a primer it didn't like including SRP.

I cleaned the barrel this morning on the rifle I'm going to shoot Saturday, so this afternoon I shot some foulers through it, then put three into one hole at 100 yards, then removed and reattached the suppressor and put one nearly in that same hole, opened it up some, but it's rare for three bullets to go through the same hole in a row, and rarer for the next one to go, especially after one has gotten up from behind the rifle and then gotten back into position to shoot another round. I'll take it. Ready to go.

I stepped out back for a bit with both my CC pistols, Smith and Wesson M&P 40s, a former LE gun and my Compact. The LE, what a fantastic shooting auto, trigger is amazing. The Compact, very accurate , the trigger is disgusting. Yea, SD weapon, and should I need to use it for its intended purpose, probably won't notice it much if at all.
Gotta say, I am a fan of that Ramshot Zip. I've been burning a bit of it lately in a little of everything and it is fantastic. I probably need to get a couple more pounds.
About 125 rounds today. New shooter had the G48 out for 100 as well. Good late afternoon, now it's off to get us some burritos, the dog and cats chicken nuggets.......

Hadn't tried this with a timer yet. So broke out and tried to see if I could get 5 shots in less than 6in @ 10 yds in 10 sec or less. Easy to get 5 shots off in less than 10 sec. But for me to get 6in or less is going to take more practice. Used my G43X doing 5 shot strings. I was showing from the holster 2.0 first shot. Fastest time was just over 5.0 but not close to 6inches. :uhoh: I'll load some more ammo and hit it again next time out.

Ran two magazines through my new-to-me Fusion Freedom Gold 9mm 1911. One was a 9mm mag that came with the gun, the other was a 10mm Wilson mag. Both were loaded with 5 shots of 124 gr Gold Dot +p and the rest reloads that are known to be on the light side.

The +P ran beautifully. Never shot a 1911 in 9mm and I think I am in love.

The reloads both had 1 stove pipe from weak ejections and both failed to lock open on the last round. Hardly the guns fault that the ammo is under-powered.

Plan to run another couple hundred rounds tomorrow, but unless some gremlin rears it's head I will have a new 1911 that is getting some holster time.

Went shooting today. I brought along my Taurus G2C in .40S&W. As for ammo, I took 15 rounds of Monarch 180gr. FMJ and 50 rounds of Blazer Brass 180 grain FMJ. Two weeks before, I shot 50 rounds of the Monarch out of the gun and had a FTF jam. I was relieved when all 65 rounds fired without jamming. The G2C .40 is sort of a new gun to me. I have had it a few months and put 265 or so rounds through it. It's a good gun, but one tough to master. Its very light with a 3.2 inch barrel so it jumps a bit when firing. I never had any accuracy problems with my .40 Stoeger Cougar, which is a beefy, all metal pistol, nor when using my government owned Glock 22 during the second half of my Corrections career. It's going to take a while to master this piece due to the snappy recoil and the less than ideal trigger. However, I like these little challenges. The Taurus is not my carry piece, I have other guns in that role.
