GO CARDS!

Nothing at all. I had surgery yesterday to lift my eye brows and upper eyelids back up to where they used to be. I have to put an antibiotic ointment in my eyes for a week and can't see worth a hoot. Fuzzy vision only wastes ammo. It's going to be a dull week.
I hope the procedure accomplished what you wanted it to…

You’ll be back at it soon….!!…..and prolly better than ever…..

Well I'm finally getting back to this thread. Busy spring so far but I took a break today after getting the mower buried yesterday. Thank the good lord for my trusty old 1959 Massey Ferguson and 30ft of chain, at least it didn't happen on the gun range.
New shooter rolled in with her usual, I went out with the 586-8 and some 148 wadcutter in 357 case loads, and my total blast P322. We cut loose about 400 this late afternoon and evening, mostly Remington Standard V 22lr. Both the 322s shoot very good with it, it's still on sale at the big gun shop in Marlette, so another 4 boxes is definitely getting retrieved this week. I shot Xtreme 148 plated wadcutters over 2.7gr of Ramshot Competition, and i think I hit a good load with that one. I could get em all touching at 10yards when I could keep it together, definitely a real good paper punching load. Recoil is very light, could shoot those all day and half the night.
Nothing like the smell of smokeless on a Thursday evening.........

Springtime weather is warming up! Time to "warm up" with the lil' guns for warm weather carry.

The Kimber EVO SP 9x19mm was sadly discontinued last year. Aluminium frame gives this striker-fired pistol a well-balanced heft and reduced recoil. Great trigger pull and sights, plus excellent accuracy. Capacity is 7+1 - apparently that wasn't enough to appeal to the crowd that can't shoot straight.

50Y POI is only 3" low with Win 115 STHP, and 5-shot group from the bench just under 6". I think that will do. 🤓

Ran to the indoor range to shoot a bit, I had a free hour before getting dance daughter ready to see Shen Yun tonight, and moto daughter loaded up to race at Pala this weekend.

The Glock 19X shot ok. For some reason I was anticipating right as the trigger broke, so stuff wasn’t as good as I’ve done in the past.

The Baer UM .45 was gold, as usual.

Stay safe.

Hang around, guys. I’ve got four years of loads, new guns, and stuff to try out in about six weeks when Childbride starts walking and driving again. Four surgeries on her left foot/ankle and now is navigating with a walker. There was a chance that she’d not walk again. Sixty years with her has taught me not to ever underestimate her drive and ability to overcome.

Rainy day so I took the 3" USPS Speed Six 357 to the indoor range and shot 100 rounds through it. 50 158gr Xtreme RNFP 38spl over 4.3grains HP-38 using CCI#500SPP & 50 125gr Xtreme FP over 5.7grains HP-38 using S&B spp in 357 cases. The downloaded 357s were louder but were just as comfortable shooting which surprised me. I've been gravitating toward short barreled revolvers these days. K frame size.

Went shooting today. I took my Winchester SXP Defender 20 gauge pump and Walther P22 pistol. I shot 50 rounds of Armscor 36 grain hollow points out of the Walther and 25 Shells of Winchester "Super X" 20 gauge 2 3/4 7 1/2 out of the pump for my little shotgun drills. Both firearms performed well and there were no jams or stoppages.
I would love to shoot centerfire handgun ammo on every visit to the range, but with prices the way they are it's more feasible to bring a .22 handgun every few weeks, sometimes even a rifle in that caliber. When you shoot nearly every week like I do, ammo costs get a little high so I have to resort to .22. I think all practice, even in small calibers, is worth it. It trains the eye and keeps you focused on fundamentals.

Cost and availability is why I started reloading center fire ammo. I realize a lot of folks don't have the time but it is very enjoyable and rewarding for an old retired guy like me with plenty of time to do it.

Wife and I got out and shot a few ground squirrels over on our friend's ranch this morning. Darned few though! The wind was really kicking up, making it hard for us to hold our rifles steady. And even when we did find solid rests, it was hard to hit squirrels that were over 45 or 50 yards away. On top of all that, there just weren't many squirrels out and about. I guess that unlike my wife and me, most of the ground squirrels were smart enough to stay down in their dins, out of the wind this morning.
At any rate, between the two of us, we only killed about a dozen ground squirrels in the 3 hours we were out there. Normally, we'll kill about 50 of the little vermin in that amount of time.

Earlier today I test fired my Fusion Gold with a newly fit 38 Super barrel. It ate a wide variety of different loads with no issues at all. Put about 150 rounds down the pipe. I did not get a chance to do any solid accuracy testing, but shooting standing two hands at 15 yards gave a very acceptable for me 2-3" group. I also shot 5 shots of 9mm ammo from the the 38 super barrel to see if it would function. Ran like a top.

I also shot my Witness Stock III. Seemed wrong to take the 9mm/38 super 1911 out to play and leave the 9mm/38 super witness home. I shot up some old mystery reloads and then shot a couple magazines of factory 9mm+p. Tomorrow I plan to get the 38 super barrel in it and let it run with that a bit.

Summer is on its way 😃. Time to warm up the 380s. The dirty bird targets didn't splat 😡

All three were shooting OK. I ran both Hornady Critical Defense and Underwood hardcast through the Glock 42. Only shot Critical Defense through the Bodyguard 2.0 and LCP MAX.

I also shot my Hellcat (75 rounds). I need to swap the magazine release on it still.
