What did you shoot today?

Headed out in the afternoon to pop some various expired cans of whatever the wife cleaned out from the back of the pantry. Also likely ill have some old cooking pans to blast cause there are new ones under the tree. I think ill keep it old school and give em hell with a 45-70 .
 
Sunny and warm in Illinois on Christmas eve. I was in and out tending the smoker.....

....but I did manage to finally shoot my new Uberti El Patron .45 colt. I bought it back about the middle of October. Harvest ran long, and I just now got to shoot it.
It was worth the wait ! Smooth and accurate! (It's always nice when your fixed sights hit the bull)

Next IDPA match some of us are setting our 9mms aside and going "big bore" for the match, so I've got to get back into the 1911. Today I'm probably going to step out and run a couple drills with my 9mm PCC.

Big benefit of a private range, I don't carry a bunch of stuff to and fro, and a range trip may only be 20-30 minutes depending on what I'm working on.

Curious as to what loads you're working up on your 300 blackout? I am doing the same with one with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. It would be good to swap info.

My son, visiting for the holidays, and I shot his HK VP9 and my HK P2000 today. Beautiful weather in NC. We practiced shooting and moving in various directions in relation to targets as well as some distance shooting. Quote of the day from my son: “where else can you have this much fun?”
In other words, we loved being together and shooting firearms.
 
The new "S&W M&P .22" and the Romanian SAR-1 AK.

**The S&W has a weird new issue (its first issue)--the slide lifts from the rear of the frame--even With the takedown lever inserted and rotated in the normal manner.
Just started a new topic about this under Handguns. S&W's factory doesn't open until Jan. 3rd.

My Romy SAR-1 AK has been 100% perfect, as always. Over 1,000 rds. By the way, the mags for all four of my AKs (imported AKs only) are the 20-rd. Hungarian Tankers.

The weather was terrible, but I went to the range today. I shot a HK Mark 23 and a Desert Eagle (.429 Desert Eagle, nonetheless) along with a Browning Buck Mark. Only the last one was mine, but it was a fun day despite the weather.
 
Well today was a 20GA O/U, but I was quail hunting......

Tomorrow we've got cold, but light wind, so I'm going check out a couple .270 loads in one of my Steyr's.
