I put 100 rounds through my Smith and Wesson 411. I just put some Hogue grips on it. The grips really feel good and softened the recoil. I put 60 rounds through my Glock 17 Gen 4. Its was a real pleasure to shoot. Then, I put 200 rounds through my SR-22 rifle. I was ready to sit down at this point, so I shot it off a sand bag. Target was at 50 yards. I'm pleased with this rifle, although the bolt release makes me crazy sometimes. Great day at the range.

Went to the range with coworkers. One had never been to a range and only really shot shotguns shooting clays. So in an hour he got to shot about 12 different guns between what was brought. I brought my Riley Defense Ak74, actually took the time to get it sighted in. I also brought my TX22 Competition, SW 915, SW 3913, Rough Rider Bar Keep, Sig Mosquito, and my Henry .22 Golden Boy. Coworker brought his Sig p365x, Arsenal Sam7 Ak47, CZP10c, Ruger Wrangler, and a Sig 1911 9mm Elite

That Sam7 sure was smoother to shot than my Riley

Went to my old high school buddies place with his younger brother who's a hunting buddy of mine. Up in the hills of the Finger Lakes to try some September deer hunting in the special 8 day antlerless season that NY State recently announced. Did an afternoon hunt and didn't see anything but late this morning we did some zero checks on the rifles at 100 yards off his picnic table at some 1 qt. and half gallon jugs filled with water. Fun times and everything is still zeroed. I brought out my Savage Mod. 10 in 300 WSM, (the one in my avatar) and he had his Seekins Precision, Havak in 6.5 Creedmore. That Havack looks like it should be chambered for a belted magnum by the looks of that muzzle brake. Yet my 300 WSM has no brake but his soft shooting 6.5 Creed does. Both using handloads by yours truly, ( I do some loading for him because I'm retired and he's not). Good times and a beautiful day even if we didn't see deer, ( except for 2 small bucks crossing the road on the way home). This special antlerless season runs until Sept. 18th so I'll try again this week closer to home with a 44 Magnum Redhawk. Sooner or later I may actually get to shoot at a deer, (grin)..... Made some jagged 2.5" holes with my new Glock 36. I know it's considered the bastard child of the Glock lineup, but I'm really starting to warm up to it.

Yes, the slide looks slightly out-of-battery but it isn't. Yes, the takedown is installed correctly. Every single one I've seen in person is like this. It is back just a smidge, but the bevel on the slide is also wider than the bevel on the frame which enhances the effect. Makes it look funny, but it shoots amazing.

I got to shoot my Volquartsen Black Mamba today at a Steel Challenge Match. Even though I had a few problems it was one of my best matches scoring personal bests on three stages.

Shoot-off between two "boring tan 9mm pistols" - FDE CZ-P10C and FDE Sig Sauer P-320. The CZ won by a narrow margin.

    (above was actually yesterday)

Recently put a Vortex 1-8x Strike Eagle scope on the .30-30 just out of curiosity. It formerly had a 1-4x Leupold. Figured the illuminated reticle of the Vortex may come in handy at dawn & dusk this fall. Never hunted with an illuminated reticle and the scope was sitting around not being used. Went to the range this morning to fine tune the 100 yd. zero after setting it up with the collimator. Had it zeroed with 5 rounds and a couple minor windage & elevation tweaks. Then put another 11 handloads through it for practice and to check point of impact with both 150 & 170 gr. bullets. IMG_2494.JPG ...Also brought the 257 Weatherby out for the first time since June. Tried several handloads including some with some 100 gr. blemished bullets of unknown make. Still got decent groups with the "blems" so I'm happy, as I got a good deal on them. Fun times.

Oh my, is this a sweet revolver!!!

It is not the Anaconda I was huntin', but I did not have a .357 so I figured this will do for now.

    . upload_2021-9-16_22-12-33.jpeg

Fired 33 rounds of 38 special (yeah, I know,,,) 6 of which the Mrs. shot.
    And 38 (coincidence?) of 357.

This may become my favorite revolver.
After shooting my 460 S&W a few days ago, this is a very fun sidearm!
Out of the box, accurate, I haven't messed with the sights yet as I was shooting my homemade swinging 4 X 6 targets successfully at distance of ten and !5 yards.! Even with one crippled hand!

Man, wish I had this years ago.....
    Gotta get that Anaconda!!!

I fired three whole shells from my Ljutic. I had to work until 8, buzzed over to the club (@ 2 miles from work) got my gun and gear out, and they were about to quit, but shot one more Annie Oakley just for me. Put my $2 in, hit my first shot, missed my second went to the end of the line (we do a free buyback for the club Annies) , shot my 3rd and missed. It was the last day of trap at the club.
Now I'm ready for Jackpot and Turkey Shoot season! :p

    M&P .22 LR: standard length.

Zastava ZPAP in 7.62x39, very tight product.

The same guns used Last time.

Don't be afraid to slightly shorten a recoil spring in a .22 semi-auto, after lots of reading.

This has made the M&P and the Ruger Mark IV 99 percent reliable, even with Thunderbolt and Federal bulk.

IMG_1960.JPG Took the Sig 226 Legion 9mm out of the safe and shot 100 rounds after a year shooting only revolvers. I need to shoot the semi autos more frequently but I enjoy the revolvers more for some reason.

A very thorough German friend (from Essen, Nordrhein-Westfalen) once brought his ‘85 “Green Box” Colt AR…with ammo, years ago.

…but forgot the magazine. No big deal I told him, and the ammo lasts much longer.

“Scheisse passiert”, as Forrest Gump tried to claim.

My DSA FAL. First time shooting to 300 yds. Just shooting at a man-sized gong. Pretty hard to miss with the FAL, to be honest, didn't take much skill on my part.

I got it on Tuesday and Saturday was the third time I shot it. I am getting used to the RMR2 now but still have a lot of training to do.

    Hi...
Good day at the gun club today.
Filled two large Folger's coffee cans and a .30cal ammo can with empty brass.
Everything from 9mm up to .44Magnum.
I shot an assortment of my .357Mag, .41Mag, .44Mag, .44Spl revolvers plus my .45AutoRim revolver and one of my 1911 .45Autos. I didn't get around to the .45Colt revolvers or the lever action pistol caliber rifles. My son shot those firearms plus a large number of the various semi auto handguns in 9mm, .40S&W, 10mm and .45Auto and just about all of the various revolvers that I shot as well.

No real problems other than the ejector rod assembly flew off my son's Taylor &Co. .357Mag SAA clone while I was shooting it.
Found all the parts except for the ejector rod housing screw, so will need to buy one of those.

Several hours of fun ringing steel plates and breaking rocks on the 25yd berm.

Did my speed drills at 7-15yds with one of my 1911s in .45ACP and all my DA revolvers in .357, .41Mag, .44Spl and .44Mag plus my .45AutoRim. Had one or two misses at 15yds but zero misses at 7yds.

Speed drills at 7yds with the SA revolvers went well accuracy wise but my times were nowhere near as fast as with the DA and 1911.

My s&w 642-1 38spl.that I've had for around 10 years and new Taurus g3c. Wanted to check out the Taurus to see if it would make a good carry gun. Answer = No. Seems it's a little ammo sensitive. Handles Remington and Federal just fine. Winchester and Armscor not so much. Maybe after It gets broken in a little more. Just can't beat the reliability of a revolver.

Got to shoot my Black Mamba at this month's Steel Challenge Match. Still slow but at least I made all my hits.
