What did you shoot today?

Yeah, and we don't need no stinkin safety glasses, neither.
I fear for such people.

A fragment of a pistol bullet off a steel target will sting, I do not want to be shooting ball ammo from a rifle so close.

That’s mighty close for shooting steal with a rifle, even a 5.56, the speed is the issue, y’all be careful out there.
I've noticed that targets in photos and videos often appear closer than they actually are. There is no third dimension necessary for proper depth perception, or nearby object of known relative size, both by which distance is judged by the human mind and vision.

My PTR-91s are clones of the HK semi-auto version of Her G3. I just returned from the club with the "classic GI" version .

Can you use your imagination, or simply Google the rest of the rifle.?.....Lithuanian Army represented here.

Tender females from Portugal to Ger., Greece, Scandinavia and the Baltics found a way to deal with the G3's "harsh semi-auto recoil" etc.:D

Two 617s.jpg

Shot my 617 with CCI SV and Norma Tac 22 today to test if they would stick in the cylinder after a number of reloads.

I just reamed my cylinders with a .22 finishing reamer because I was getting sticky ejection where I had to pound on the ejector rod to get the fired cases out.

It was a success. The Norma cases started sticking at 5 reloads but they weren't that bad. With little effort they all came out whereas before I had to pound them out or push the ejector rod against a bench for the cases to fall.

CCI - SV was a different story. Although they previously stuck, they now fly out of the cylinder.

A simple solution. Wish I would have thought of it before.

I had taken my favorite .22 l.r. Korth and a bunch of speed loaders and the Brno Mod.1 to the range. I shot the Korth in double action and the Brno offhand from the shoulder, working the bolt from the shoulder, as well. I did not so much shoot for results but for fun and I had fun! Just like last Saturday morning, I had the range to myself.
Back home I cleaned both guns and disassembled the bolt of the Brno. Looked like that had not been done in 50 years :).

Took the wife to the range today and tested some pistols. I had a new Sig P365 that I hadn't shot and I think that I will keep it. It shots where I aim it, so that is better than my Colt 1911/22. It is all over the place.

Ginger D shot her Taurus PT22. I am not saying that it is the biggest piece of crap that we have owned, but it is in the top 5. I cleaned it when I got home, put it in the safe and ordered her a Ruger LCPII Lite Rack.

The old stand-by Ruger 22/45 never ceases to amaze me. Maybe it is because I have had it for over 30 years and have put thousands of rounds through it. My Security 9 Ruger shoots really well when I do my part.

I had a couple of rifles to work ladder loads on , but the range was really busy and I didn't want to slow things down for the other shooters.. I pulled out the CZ 455 and shot a few groups and then cleared the 4" plate rack a few times at 50 yards. It was a good afternoon. Even the wife liked it.

IMG_20220518_202943153.jpgfired my T/C flintlock today. Not sure how many shots. Shot until it got so dirty that ramming became a pain then walked back from my home range and cleaned up. The rifle performed beautifully as far as accuracy and reliability. Only had one problem with the flint chipping off to the point of being too short. Adjusted position in the jaws and got a few more shots before as I said it was time to go home and clean

Went out behind the barn to shoot an H&R Handi in 357 Mag. It seems I have no pics of the carbine, but I can supply a pic of the range.

Range behind the barn_80 yds.JPG

Target is hard to see, but it's in the vertical middle of the chrony V, just below halfway up. Sort of a lighter smudge.

Max of 80 yds. Not as long as some, but it works. And it's 200 feet from the back door. If I want longer I go to the club.
