What Discontinued Gun That Colt Made That You Wish They Would Make Again?

What I waited for years to buy, and never got...A stainless steel Detective Special, not the SF-VI/DS II.

The Colt Trooper Mark III in .22LR....In stainless steel.

The once announced and never made Colt Python Stainless in .22.

The Stainless Non-enhanced Officer's ACP.

The Delta Elite is a slam dunk.

I would say a 9mm lightweight Commander, but I'm building one, now.

I will also add the 1908 .380 hammerless - for that matter the gov't .380 would be nice, too. Mayvbe upsize them a little for the 9mm?

The New Frontier Single Action Army in .44 special, 5.5" barrel. I promise I will only shoot factory equivalent loads in it.

bring back ...

brand new Commanders (LW, pre-80's rollmark) and Combat Commanders (also pre-80's)! Good old ones are getting tooooo expensive.

The once announced and never made Colt Python Stainless in .22.

While I have never seen one the 11th edition of modern guns and their values says that in 1981 they made pythons in both .22 lr and wmr

Atleast the python is back in production again.

opps, now I see that they probally were not made in stainless, sorry.

Right on!

Good on you, Jim V!
Commander in .38 Super (Using the correct terms, Commander = LW and Combat Commander = steel)
Q: What's that you're carrying, Johnny?

A: Same .45 Commander I usually pack.

Q: Steel or lightweight?

A: It's a Commander. REAL Commanders are lightweight.

Really, I've always resented the tag, "Combat Commander." Makes it sound as if the alloy framed Commanders produced during the twenty previous years were somehow not worthy!

Oh, well - - - I've trusted CLWs to bring me home at night since about 1967 or so.

Best,
Johnny

PS---While we're at it - - -Wish Colt would produce a Commander for ME: Stainless parts on a proper CLW frame, high fixed sights, arched MSH, standard spring-and-plug, and everything "melted."

I would like to see a 44 spl Python , The Detective Special and the Diamonback , The Govt. Mod. 380's. And I would like them all offered in Nickel and Blue.

Government Pocketlite

Another vote here for the Colt .380 Government Pocketlite, the 7 + 1 model single action.

I might be tempted to the wheelgun side with a nice Python too.

The trick would be getting Colt to make anything for less than a house payment!

Don P.

What do you consider a sane price?
Not $800+, I'll tell ya that!
A real 1911 shouldn't cost any more than a 1991, especially considering it has fewer parts. It's beyond my comprehension why Colt doesn't that realize we don't want Series 80's.

The three I would go with are:
The diamond back .38's in 2.5 and 4 inch versions.
The Light weight commander
The woodsman.
