Bought a Lee FCD[ no carbide ring] for my .45 acp loads.
No carbide sizing ring. It's just a straight taper crimp die. I bought it to see if its "smoother" to use. The Lee carbide FCD has a bit of resistence; all my other Lee carbide FCD's are a very smooth feel/operation. I'll be finding out soon enough.I didn't know they made one. How does it differ from a regular crimp die?
Presume it's this one?Bought a Lee FCD[ no carbide ring] for my .45 acp loads. For the price just gotta see if it works better than my Lee FCD with the carbide ring.
Yes, that's the one. Once it's adjusted, it work well. And smooth.Presume it's this one?

Handgun Taper Crimp Die
Lee Taper Crimp Die, overcomes crimp problems caused by poor die design. Offers little or no advantage when used with 1986 or newer Lee Dies as the crimp angle is already a modified taper crimpleeprecision.com
I've always found this "no advantage" statement from Lee confusing (but not enough to try and figure it out). Have you ever seen a 45acp jacketed bullet w/groove? Don't think I have.

Consider yourself kicked.I should have my butt kicked, because I have had a nib Lee Pro. 6000 waiting to be unboxed since Christmas.
