• Possible Downtime Alert

I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.

When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

More information is available in this thread.

As always, thanks so much for your patience.

What do you have waiting for you in the reloading room?

Which I have..... šŸ‘
Me too😁. I came up with it helping a poor kid get over a flinch that he instantly developed the first time he fired a handgun; and someone thought it would be funny to give them a out of the stratosphere HandCannon loaded to reverse the earths rotation!… It’s so fluffy it feels like the springs in the gun are going ā€œboingā€ā€¦ but cycles reliably (in a full size sig 320) and is very accurate. Not to be confused with my favorite load, a max charge of autocomp pushing a 115 Hap…

Still working on inventory and up next is going to be clearing out some of the ā€œstuffā€ we’ve been storing for no particular reason. The A/C and water heater have been needing to be replaced for some time and I’m not happy with the repair to the ceiling. My wife suggested we downsize and try turning the room into a new office just for me. I asked what about my current office and she said, ā€œOh, I think we should think about making it an exercise roomā€¦ā€ šŸ˜’

Which means a place for her and her yoga friends to meet…

At least she isn’t moving me to the barn?

……….yet…………. 😁

Better mind your ā€œP’sā€ and ā€œQ’sā€ or you’ll be out there with Charolette and Wilbur…..
And Spike and Gidget, the barn cats…

That’s not a worry. The office is for paperwork and computers. The barn isn’t climate controlled - yet. Probably can’t be. It’s old and doesn’t have insulation.

I don’t typically load in my office but I do keep some supplies in there, like powder and carbon steel tools.

Organizing.

This one is pretty decent now, at least I can use space on it. It does double duty between reloading and woodworking.

I'm working on my primary loading bench area now, before FEMA shows up and declares it a disaster area.
I have some shelves to put up and things to find a new home for.
I'm trying to ... decompress.

Work in progress.

Everything is on standby. The D550C I traded for is adjusted for my current .45 load, which I will shoot some of today to be sure there is no hidden flaw. My D550 9mm awaits the bits for my Glock MOS so I can work up (down, really) to a functional and accurate AND MILD load for GSSF which does not require power factor.

Dirty brass has been stacking up fast for the past couple months since I last reloaded. It's fishing/boating season now and shooting on windy/rainy days. Retirement is a tough job but somebody's got to do it. ;)
Geez! No kidding! My cardiologist and my investment advisor are both pushing me to retire but I keep telling them I’m too tired for that. I need to rest up for a couple of years first. 🤣

An old minister friend of our family(old school kind that it was truly a heart calling and not a career) who was quite a funny guy; when asked(at 85) about retirement had a standard answer. ā€œRetire? Which shop? Michelin or Goodyearā€¦ā€ (finally retired at 89, and still served as an assistant pastor till his death at 92)

I’ve got a woodworking project (bookcase) waiting on my bench…
