What do you think of "Untuckit" shirts for concealed carry?

I see those as being no more dressy or classy than a polo shirt. That is to say I can’t see wearing that anywhere that a polo also wouldn’t be OK. That’s no substitute for a button up dress shirt IMO.

Not for the prices they charge. A tee shirt is $39. A quick scan of dress shirts show prices of $78 to $98. I have a sewing machine. If need to shorten a shirt I can do so myself. I won't tell others how to spend their money or whether these shirts are worth the prices they're charging, but it's not for me.

Bought one = FAR too small for real men.

If your thin, and or metro sexual, they will most likely fit.

The idea works for me,too bad I cannot sew to save my life.

Or I would shorten ALL my shirts to just below belt line and wear them as "shirt jac's".

One more vote for polo shirts - they just look better untucked. Proper looking men's shirts must be tucked. Always. Just buy a tuckable holster.

If there was a style of untucked shirt that was not considered "slobby" then it would be much easier to slip a pistol under your belt and be able to draw it quickly.

I think it depends on the person and the shirt. An untucked shirt would aid in concealment, but you then have the issue of hoisting the fabric of the shirt out of the way to get to the gun underneath.

My wife bought me a shirt intended to be worn untucked. I tried. I lasted about 30 minutes before I excused myself to the rest room and tucked the thing in. So, for me, an untucked shirt is not an option. Nearly six decades of social programming is hard to undo.

If I am not in uniform I am wearing one of my 5.11 shirts. Button down with a square bottom and I can get two to three of them for what that site wants for one. I don't have an IWB holster and I carry a G22. My shirts look just fine and conceal my side arm just fine. But as they say, to each his own.

I was largely raised with the idea that untucked shirts = slob.

I was largely raised with the idea that people who thought that way were uppity and to shy away from them.
No offense to you friend. ;)

I do dress nicer than I did growing up, and I'd have to say that yes, going untucked can have its advantages with concealed carry.

I have carried OWB when dressed nice, but just couldn't take off my suit jacket or blazer.

I like the idea but they look a bit tight around the waist. There is a store near me and I have planned on checking them out while wearing my IWB snubbie.

I scored win last summer when Gander Mountain was closing out all their gear. One particular manufacturer cut the shirts through the body correctly but left the tails nearly square and shorter than average. They had a half dozen colors in my size and at $12 ea. needless to say I took all they had. The small check pattern made them perfect for IWB carry with no printing. I went back many times to see if they had more but must have been a very small run.

If I've got clean clothes on and my jeans not full of holes I really don't mind what others think. As long as I'm clean shaven and don't stink that is good enough unless attending a Wake or Church I probably dress what some folk would call casual and I may pocket carry if not wearing an overshirt but tuck
Not me I'm a redneck and have been called a cracker by folk's that were rasist.
Life is just too short stop worring that folks might think you a slob because your shirt tail is not tucked.
But if you would call others a slob for strolling with theirs out, you should be concerned, and pay up.

When is this going to be needed for you? Whats your normal work wear? Is this just for occasional wear? Can you always carry?
I can't carry at work. I do hvac/r in 2 hospitals. I always wear same type of shirt and never tucked in. Why bother, after most my jobs it comes untucked anyways. Weight plays a factor also in concealing.

Vast majority of the time I wear jeans and a T-shirt. When I do dress up in suits or tuck in shirts my holster and carry options change rather slightly by design to keep my firearm somewhere on my waist line.

A shirt with a traditional tail (longer in front and back than the sides) does look sloppy untucked. But that's why they make shirts with a straight hem. Pair one of those with Dockers or other such pants and you'll be fine. Or Hawaiian shirts in the summer, etc. Depending on the type of cloth the shirt is made of, slacks or jeans. Also, darker colors or patterns make concealment much easier than light colors with no pattern. Light color with no pattern makes printing more likely.

I like tolvo’s solution, I wore a suit jacket with a shoulder rig for 30 years...Now I wear a sports coat,,, have tried a few different holsters but I’m used to the shoulder rig, with a 38 special.....pretty fast to put into action, though I have never had too.
Sport coats always look nice, and I get plenty of compliments on being a ‘retired guy that doesn’t dress like a slob”

Sorry, if you don’t agree.

I spend my change on guns, reloading components, holsters, gear and the like. Then I use a credit card to buy more guns...
No coins for nice clothes to ruin around the place. It`s turning cooler maybe the better than you crowd should just mind their own...
If I look poor, even slobbish maybe the thugs think the folks with nice clothes make for better victims and bother them and let me pass on by.

I wore tucked-in exclusively until I started carrying (again) in 2008. Now, I wear untucked exclusively. The shirt is always a button-front, and almost always a plaid. With jeans, work or saddle boots, and a cowboy or farmer hat, I've yet to hear any complaints.

Now, at over fifty years old, I've gotten soggy enough in the midsection to actually look better with the shirt untucked. My wife used to prefer it tucked in, but she surprised me as we were heading out to my job's Christmas party last year when she suggested the shirt I had on and tucked in be untucked instead. I told her that I finally had gotten big enough for her to make that request ( at 5'11" and 210, I'm really not that big; I just pack too much in the middle.)

I saw this thread within minutes of seeing a commercial for the "UntuckIt" shirt, and I didn't care for the style as depicted.

Oh, and a sport coat over casual attire? Pushing ludicrous in the climate here. I think I wore a coat/jacket of any kind one day last year, and it was a uniform jacket because winter happened to fall on a day I worked.

Around here the only people that wear sport coats are used car salesmen (Plaid polyester) and near-retirement Detectives. And not many of them do, either. I prefer untucked XXLT or 3X (6' and 250, mostly around the middle) plaid shirts or Hawiian shirts.

People in hot climates rarely wear tucked shirts or jackets. Wear a sport coat in Phoenix and you are going to stand out, hardly the gray man. An old guy in a straw hat and a Hawaiian shirt is near invisible here. I wear Hawaiian shirts in the summer and a long sleeve shirt in the winter. If its chilly at night (for Phoenix anyway) I will put a jacket or hoody on depending on where I'm going. Cowboys do seem to wear tucked in shirts but that is about it.
