I picked up a Sig 238 SAS this weekend. My wife asked me what SAS stood for. I had to admit I have no idea.
    A little help please?

Probably a play on Special Air Service (British Special Forces, motto: "Who Dares, Wins").

Dunno about SAS but I've eaten plenty of SOS while in the Army.

    Slick As Snot? :D

No no "SIG Anti Snag"... but I like my version better and that's probably what I'd tell my spousal unit, if I had one and if she asked.

Strategic Air Services, sig can say what they will but to me it will always be the former

    Wrong on both counts.

"The SAS" is Special Air Service...........not "Strategic Air Services".
The SAS motto is "Who Dares, Wins"
