More specifically a satin 1911? I've only seen them with black plastic checkered grips...what other kind/color (wood plastic, etc) look good? This is what they would be going on:

I'm kind of partial to Green in any shade on my stainless guns. Check out VZ Grips at http://www.vzgrips.com/grips.html

If green don't work for you they should have something that strikes your fancy(i'm only 35 i swear:neener: ).

If you can find some made of Carbon fiber that would be kick ass!

kimber warriors, they feel great. I am still looking for a pair of money green smooth wood grain grips for mine though. I'm a certified weirdo too.
I guess mine isn't satin anymore but yours won't be either in a couple of years.

    Hogue Aluminum Grips

I assume its to compete with Aluma Grips but I was reading in <GASP> SIGFORUM today that Hogue is coming out with Aluminum grips for 1911's, Sigs (except the 225's) Berretta 92's, Hi Powers and the like. I can't find any pics but they were SWEEET! I can't wait to put some beautiful madness on my 226. They'd look equally sweet on your 1911.

Big fan of the Carbon Creations grips shown in the previous post.

I'll add: The olive grey Alumagrips look really, really nice on stainless.

Also Wicked Grips has some Damascus customs that are sexy enough to ask out on a date.

Their ebony grips are not to be sneezed at either.

    Spendy though!!!

Yep! Ivory always looks best! Not imitation either the real deal only.

    note to damascus grips,
will you go out with me? check yes or no.

I thought you weren't supposed to shoot a gun with real ivory grips? My buddy got a fully engraved PPK with Ivory grips, ran a box of ammo through it to find out that he had just chipped the corner off of one grip. His may have been albino baby elephant tusk or something though.

Not a 1911--but these grips by Hakan Pek (CZ 75B) and Omega (CZ 97B) look awfully nice on satin nickel--dontcha think??--they both make grips for 1911's

    Buffalo horn

If you don't mind a smooth grip, I would get Buffalo Horn grips from Eagle Grips. As soon as I get my Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail I am going to order myself a set.
