What guns have you wanted but just couldn't justify paying the price?

Any Luger P08's. I love them, but the prices.....ehhhh....having a hard time to say yes to them. Over a grand after fees, taxes, shipping, etc...I want them so badly, but spending that kind of cash on one pistol...its a battle between my mind and my wallet..

Colt Python

HK P7

Sig P210

Thompson

Steyr AUG

FS2000

Tavor

Freedom Arms 97

BFR in .45-70

Dan Wesson Guardian 9mm C-Bob

Blaser rifle

Sig MPX

high end AR15 (Christensen, Daniel Defense, etc)

And above all, Fostech Origin 12 and the BRNO FK Field 7.5mm Pistol

I'm sure many others.

The high priced ones that ARE worth it that I plan to get at some point are the Kimber Mountain Ascent in .280AI and the Benelli Montefeltro Silver 20 ga.

Pretty much any handgun made by Colt

The CZ 75 long slide, SO not worth 1600$

Korth revolver
Hammerli pistol. Really like the old 280 model
SIG 210
Ruger NO#1 in 280 Remington
A nice underhammer muzzle loading rifle.
Ballard 38/55 rifle and scope
Precision centerfire rifle in 243 Ackley Improved.
Voodoo Ridgeback 22LR

First, I just can't justify the price for a high end 1911. I don't shoot anywhere near enough to have the skill to get any use out of the higher build
I had a Les Baer for a while. Got it for an absolutely super screaming deal price. I wasn’t using it, not a good enough shot to justify a 1” @ 50 yards competition pistol. Sold it at a really great deal price. Hopefully the new owner is using and loving it.

LGS has Christensen bolt rifle in 6.5 Creed. Love to have it, but I’ve got a 7 Mag that I still don’t have ready for deer season and a couple AR’s that I’ve never fired. Though I’d like to have it and could easily afford it, it makes zero sense. It would just be another gun I don’t use.

Any semi-auto in 7.62 NATO or .308. Reloading (single stage) for another gun type became very tiresome after a while, and modern ammo prices for These guns is a turn-off.
An M1-A1 ("M-14") would be very cool, and lighter than the FAL, better ergos than the G3 types.

Ammo prices might help explain why guys so often sell semi-auto rifles in this chambering, but also popularity of the recent PTR variation which uses 7.62x39 and AK magazines?

P7s aren't THAT expensive, I have 2; $685 for one and $600 for the other

Hi...
A couple things come to mind...
A high end 1911
Pretty much any revolver in.475 Linebaugh

I used to think a custom rifle was out of reach financially but I came across a Sako L57 with a heavy weight Shultz and Larsen barrel chambered in.308 for a decent price at a gun show last year. Maybe not a full blown custom build but a real nice rifle that is close enough to suit me.

I have been close on buying a couple of full blown custom rifles at auctions but dropped out of the bidding when they went over my self imposed limit.

Same answer as in the "If you had just enough money ..." thread:

Georgia Precision Xtreme Hunter.

A nice SXS shotgun. I don't know exactly which direction I'd go, but that is something I'd like to own. I don't shoot a shotgun enough to justify the money though. I have several rifles that cost as much or more than a decent shotgun, $1000+. In fact If I REALLY wanted to do it I could probably afford to buy a $2K -$3K shotgun.

But I shoot my rifles enough to justify the expense. My older Benelli M-1 that I bought used for $500 is my go-to shotgun along with a $150 Remington 870 Pawnshop deal. Between the 2 can do anything with a shotgun that I really want.

M16 and as much as I would like one I just can't justify the cost. I did come close to a legal M2 Carbine for 5K but while I gave it some thought the gun sold. Not a big deal but would have been a nice to have for the buck.
