enfields, webleys, 1903 colt autos,
single action colts and remingtons, smith and wesson russians, lever rifles in .32 special,.32-20, .38-40.
USFA might be making one of the early versions of the 1911, no grip safety and chambered for .38 colt round.

USFA has been showing a prototype of a pre-war Woodsman, complete with Maxim Silencer. Like I said, most of this stuff is available if you don't mind paying for it.

i think they should start making classic m1's again(carbines and garands). Ok, i know these aren't really old like some of yours ideas, but, correct me if im wrong, i haven't seen any new mfg garands/carbines. also, those Spanish 9mm largo carbines are pretty neat, i got the opportunity to shoot one a while back.

Another vote for the Krag Carbine. With modern metallurgy in .30-40, and, yes, .308 Win. :D:D:D

And how about another round of new Lugers, while we're at it!

Any Webley revolver. I love those things. :)

+1 on broomhandle. I saw one at a shop down in SC one time... I think the price tag was around 1700 or something.

A more modern version of the Lemat, this one took shells, but I'm sure with modern metals and machines it could be turned into one brute of a hand gun.

The problem with the Krag is that single locking lug, which puts asymetrical forces on the bolt (which is why so many have cracked bolts.)

The Scandanavian Krags were a bit better, with the safety lug also bearing, so they had two lugs (but still asymetrical.) In the American Krags, the safety lug didn't come into play until the mail lug failed.

I don't think the Krag design is up to modern pressures, and wouldn't want it in .308.

.223 FAL (They had prototypes, but were never produced, barring the Red Rock Arms stuff)
.223 Garand (Closer to the round it was intended for)
Colt 1903/08
Martini-Enfield (Easier on the shoulder and wallet than the Henry)

Sig P210 at a reasonable price and/or in .22

Hey, I've got a Ferguson and one museum wants it from me.

What would I want? How about an experimental Garand with a BAR magazine. I don't need it to be selective fire, but a M-1 with detachable BAR magazine would be neat.

Savage shooter:

That garand in 223 caliber to save money already exists. IT's called a ruger mini 14.

96 Swede, with better sights for old eyes, Make it in the 38, short rifle version for easier handling. 99 Savage with roatery magazine, and while we are at that maybe the old Mannlicher carbine in some of the old mild calibers like the 6.5x55 or 7.57.

A Winchester 1895 carbine in 30=40
A Krag carbine in 30-40
a Evens rifle
A old model or 1st generation Varaquaro with a flip out clynider.

Jaot, I had the same idea in Dream Revolver theard
