What Happen to all the AKs

People will usually pay higher prices at a pawn shop because they offer layaways with little down

Love my FEG SA 85M as well! For an AK I really like how well made and finished it is.

BTW, all pawnbrokers do have FFL licenses and yes are required to do forms 4473's just like any other FFL dealer.
All pawnbrokers who do business in firearms do, but not all have an FFL.

An example is the "Gold & Silver Pawnshop" in Las Vegas ("Pawn Stars") where the owner Rick says that he can only deal in pre-1898 firearms. My assumption is that this is because he does not have an FFL.

Sorry that was unclear to you.
I was commenting on a comment above in this thread that implied that pawnbrokers did not do background checks so that they could get high prices--it could have been sarcasm but whatever.

Of course my comment only refers to those pawnbrokers who are dealers (that have a Type 2 license which is for pawnbrokers only) and yes, no federal license (some states also require licenses to sell and may include antiques) is needed to sell antiques. Pawnbrokers are also regulated by the states and localities regarding transactions outside of firearms as well.

Some deals are still out there. Right place at the right time I guess.

I bought this wasr 2 years ago for $450 as new. 14753225_10154867242663974_6561969751264599608_o.jpg

And last year I bought this Mak 90 for $350 for my father as a gift. I occasionally see some decent used wasr's and mak 90's here and there on Armslist but you have to jump on them.

Oh yes. I bought mine some 25 years ago and the more other AK:s I see, the happier I am with it. The beech furniture is nice and it has one of the best barrels I've come across. My son is currently in market for an AK and he's borderline desperate trying to find one. I told him he can have mine, but only when I'm either senile enough to not to be able to use it anymore, or in my will. :)

What wasn't unclear was the fact that you said that all pawnbrokers have FFL's.

But, back to AKs.

I recently purchased a Gen2 PSAK47, my first AK. I think that I am going to really like it. Yes, they are out with the Gen3 now, but I couldn't pass up the fire sale price of the Gen2, and it seemed to survive Rob Ski's 5K test OK.

MAK90s can be had depending on the receiver. If it’s slant cut there usually cheaper. If they have the straight cut there more since they can be more easily converted to a normal stock.

Why hasn't Trump reversed them?!

Because Trump is not as pro gun as you (collective not personal pronoun) thought.

I am not sure his position on the 2nd Amendment has much to do with it. He is in favor of domestic manufacturing, and probably likes the idea of US companies building new rifles here in America better than importing stuff from our enemies.

The AK market is kind of dead now anyway. The current prices on AR's make buying an AK kind of a bad deal.

Additionally, DJT is getting quite a lot of "Russia" scrutiny right now.

Just think how the talking heads would explode if he was to open up importation of "assault weapons" from Russia. They would be screaming about him being in the pocket of Putin.

Want to see Premature wear of AK trunnions or bolt lug channels after about 2,000-3,500 rounds? We realize that some owners won't use so much ammo in theirs.

"Rob Ski" on "AK Operators Union" tests various AKs through 3,500, even 5,000 rds,. spread out over days, to avoid barrel overheat.

The most premature wear seems to be in the US-made I.O. (they halted production for a while), the RAS, and even part of the C39.
When he sees unusual Internal wear for a specific round count-sometimes a headspace problem-he shows you.

Among other brands, his WASR did quite well, because it has milspec steel instead of low-grade commercial steel used by certain US companies (maximum profit).

Bunch of Wasr10's on Gunbroker. None are cheap though:

The Century Serbian M92 Pap pistols are good to go:

I bought one a few years ago and had the dealer install a folding arm brace.

The Romanian Draco and Mini Draco is another good one and probably the best priced of the current AK Pistols:

A couple years ago there was a bunch of Yugo 308 rifles coming in similar to a Vepr d anyone here test those for groups

AK's are fairly sparse in my area, I think that if one wants a combloc AK they better act quickly. It's only a matter of time before US manufacturers figure out the AK in my opinion. My money is on PSA to do it, as their Gen 2's have got a pass from Rob Ski, and the Gen 3's are only improving on the Gen 2's it seems with hammer forged front trunnion and bolt and carrier.

I have a Gen 3 on order as my first AK, looks promising and based on the reviews of the Gen 2's I felt comfortable enough to order it, plus PSA has a lifetime warranty so if there are any issues they should get resolved.
