What have you done in the reloading room today

Got tired of struggling with range pickup 9mm larded with off brands and their small flash holes and undersize primer pockets.
Pulled them out of the system and loaded the tumbler with some once fired agency range brass, mostly Federal.

Maybe I will gradually prep the junk brass in the winter doldrums.
I have long since quit jacking around with mixed brass in 9mm.

I still pick up brass, that wont stop until I can't physically do it anymore. Now I toss them all in a bucket. When the weather is bad and I'm bored, I sort out a few specific brands to keep and use. The rest go into a trade/give/scrap bucket.

Having said that, other folks need to do whatever suits them.

Told dad we would go shooting tomorrow. He said he wanted to go long........so loaded up some rounds for the longer range guns.
100rnds of 6.5CM. 140RDFs over h4350
50rnds of 7prc 180eld over retumbo
50rnds of 28 Nosler 180elds over RL-33
And 20 rnds for my new to me savage 99 in .243....85game kings, and 100gr Sbt, both over 4831ssc

Down side, im out of 140rdfs and down to 100 140elds total. Out of Retumbo and Rl-33 now too

Im also down to 300 215s and one brick of questionable 9.5s......guess im dropping my next gun or scope money on primers and powder.

Way things are going ill be down to just my 375 again lol.
What's questionable about the Remington 9/1-2s?? I have two bricks of the 9-1/2Ms.

Working on the 300 PRC H1000 180gr Accubond ladder! Loading 7 groups of 8 rounds. I have two cases left over I'll probably load at the highest ladder ring just cause.
Using the Lyman 51 manual ladder from 75gr to 81gr.

Edit, I see some people online loading to 3.5ish coal with 180gr bullets, does this sound right?? Max overall COAL is 3.7 according to LEE.

Prepped 308 brass for 150 grain Hornady FMJ/AR Plus test loads. Ideally I would duplicate the Winchester M80 7.62 NATO round, but as long as it shoots just as good, I’m willing to push them slower.

Then I began prepping 9mm brass. I need enough for the upcoming 3rd annual zombie shoot. I have 400 sized, plus a dozen or so to replace the few I find too long or cracked.

Sized, trimmed, primed and loaded 5 .308 cases with a "prove it" load of 175 SMK's and AR Comp. Then primed and loaded the 40 .44 Mag cases I prepped last week with N110 and 240 XTP's. Ended my evening by swapping my wife's bow sight back to her old one after trying my old sight. She definitely shoots better with her sight!

I'm kinda stuck. I have one pound of ar-comp and haven't seen any in a long time.... do I load it up to experence the powder or trade it for something that works good. I never imagined it would disappear.... even varget is more available, and I was going to ar-comp because varget was so hard to find.

It's available at stupid high prices from Powder Valley right now in 1lb cans...

I would just switch to Ramshot TAC to be completely honest. It's cheaper (by a lot) and it seems to work well from my 308 loading fiasco. The accuracy when my rounds did work, was decent, as in I was able to see the rounds hit in basically the same spot. I never did "bench" test them though.

8lbs for 240 plus hazmat and shipping and tax. Not great, but way better than the other stuff. Idk why Alliant is so proud of their powders... are they really that much better?? I would think not lol.

I’m a firm believer in burning powder just to get to know it better.

I am now (finally) low on loaded .40S&W. I dug out 100 ready cases and counted out 100 of the Berry’s 155’s to load up before the weekend. I figure on using Competition (4.4gr). It’s a nice soft shooting load and accurate enough for fun.

NB: I just noticed Berry’s recommends a finished COAL of 1.125” for these 155gr RS .40’s. The Western manual says to seat them to a COAL of 1.115”. I’ve been loading them to 1.120” because that’s what my Springfield liked and they shot well in both the new KelTec and the new-to-me Taurus. I will stick with that load since she runs good but it is kinda funny how the bullet maker and powder maker disagree.

Loaded a batch of 9mm Luger this morning.
Blazer brass, Fed GM primers, 4.0 grains W231, Speer Gold Dot 124 @1.080”.
Started them at 1.120”, the recommended length and where I load them for my Glock, but they didn’t plunk and twist in my Ruger PCC barrel, so I dialed them down.

Well, it finally happened. Loading some .45 200gr coated rnfp bullets for my SA 1911-A1, finished the twenty I wanted to test and discovered I loaded it using 230gr RN loads.
5.4gr Universal. DOH! It appears thats about 2 tenths under min in most manuals. Rats! I'll hang on to those and try one at a time. If they clear the barrel, I'll shoot the rest, as its only 20 of 'em.
What do you guys think? This was a first.

Loaded up about 100 Bbq rounds for the .40 s+w. The 115gr xtp's are same charge. Loaded up about 50 10mm target loads as well. May go test them today. I dont want break into my new star brass yet as I'm trying to avoid the lpp and spp confusion. I mean I can tell the diff, but dont want that hassle....

Just finished wet tumbling 150ish 9mm I shot this AM and separated the 100 or so Winchester from the rest.

Used a Frankford Arsenal pod for cleaning—best job of all cleaning materials but pricey.

Had decapped&sized&gauged cases earlier when I got home.

Now will wait till fully dry and ensure the Winchesters are suitable for continued use in the rotation. Probably tomorrow.

As an aside, for the first time in a couple years perhaps, I shot Berettas today. And only Berettas—three flavors: a WC Brigadier Tactical, a customized 92FS, and a customized 92D (double action only police pistol).

My home loads performed flawlessly because as we all know Berettas will eat anything.

Last week I received a notice from UPS that an adult signature would be required for them to drop off my package. After finally getting an employee on the phone she said because the words “Frankord Arsenal” are somewhere on the box, so the signature was required. I explained that it was 15 pounds of corncob coming from Amazon. She said it was company policy for the signature because of the verbiage. This morning the UPS driver laughed as he made me sign for it. I hope they feel safe now.

Id imagine they would probably come out of the barrel ok, but it might not cycle right. One at a time seems like the safest bet. Let us know how it goes!

Don’t be surprised if they shoot pretty nicely.
