Shot my ruger .243 and 7mm/08 this afternoon. Sure felt good! Then I went to the reloading room and loaded up some more of each to do the same thing tomorrow! Only this time my Rem. 700bdl 243 will join in the fun!

I jumped back into .45-70 GVT today, with Berry's 350gr RN Plated and starting charges of H322. There are likely better powders for the practical velocity range of this bullet, but I'm not terribly concerned right now. A plinking load first, then something more powerful with a jacketed bullet.

I played around with the new Chargemaster by making some .41 mag loads with Accurate No.7 and 210 gr. XTP's. I've been trying different powders to see how it performs. 50 rounds all perfect. I'm impressed.
Then i swapped out the old fluorescent shop lights over my bench for some new LED's. Very nice.

Cooked up another 350 rounds of 9mm.

Need to hit the range next weekend.

Edit: Also worked on cutting some custom foam for cases to hold my tool heads and powder throws.

Recently, I've gotten back involved with shooting skeet. I enjoyed shooting in the fall skeet league at the gun club I belong to.

Over the past couple days, I've been reloading all the empty 20 ga hulls that I generated during the 8 weeks of the league.

I just received 1000 previously fired 20ga. hulls to load up for next spring's skeet shooting.

I finally found time to spend loading. I loaded some 160gr. Speed flat bullets over 45gr. of IMR 4350 for my 7x57. I noticed in several of my my old Speer reloading manuals the max load was 46gr. and the #14 manual says 45gr. is max load. Hmmmm wonder what changed? I have been using this load for years with great results on whitetails and hogs.

Processed a bunch of 44 magnum brass, resizing and priming with magnum and non-magnum primers. Made some reloads with them with some 180g XTP (2400), and 240g Missouri load projectiles (2400 and H110).

Ran 100x test 9mm using Missouri Hi-Tek 115g projectiles over some Tight Group.

I loaded 70 rounds total in .10th gr increments from 3.2-3.8 gr titegroup with 158 gr lead swc. OAL was 1.475

3.5 gr seems to be pretty good especially out of a 2 inch barrel. IMG_20191124_074926884.jpg

Started on some 45acp 200gr cast test loads. So far I have 4 dummies made with one that will finally pass the plunk test in my Witness barrel. So far I haven't decided if I am going to charge these up with AA#2, AA#5, Silhouette or HP-38. Right now I'm leaning towards the AA#2 and the HP-38.

I just received a new NOE 460-396 PB mold. I cast some for my 45/70 and powder coated them. Loaded them up with 40.4gr of H4895. Shot them yesterday and they run at 1,530 fps with an astounding 595 foot pounds. Great shooting bullet!

Late last night loaded up 20 45acp with the newly cast 200gr LSWC from a Lee mold. For a starting point I used R-P brass, S&B LPP, 4.6gr HP-38 @ an OAL 1.235"

While looking for load data I found a large deviation between Hodgdon website and the Lyman Pistol & Revolver book which has their pistol data.
Hodgdon was start, 4.4gr with a max of 5.6gr while Lyman data was start, 5.2gr with max of 6.5gr... I would say that is a very large difference. Oh yeah, the 4.6gr charge is what dropped out of the #.43 cavity for my Lee Auto Disk. Later I am going to check to see what drops from the #.46 cavity.

Wet tumbled approximately 1175 9mm "range " brass.
Yeah, I counted them as I was curious how many fit in my tumbler with pins, etc.
"range" means mostly picked in gravel pits.

    Hi...
Separated some brass from Sunday's range session.
Didn't bother to tumble it yet. Trying to hold off until I have enough brass to make it worthwhile to run a load of each caliber. Just seems pointless to run a tumbler for 50-100 pieces of brass.

Working on loads for a new-to-me Ruger Hawkeye in 375 Ruger. Just loaded up ten reduced power practice rounds to get on paper and function test the rifle: 235 grain Speer Hot Cores over Trail Boss. I'll also be loading up some test loads using Varget and the same bullet.
