Set up the 550 for 10mm and ran 200 previously worked up loads of 8.2 grains of BE-86 under a 180 grain FP FMJ. Close to 1200fps and accurate in my G40. Curious as too it's performance in my Rock 10.

I'll pick it back up and load more later this morning.

Sorting and prepping 223 all day today. Going to the range tomorrow to give myself even more to prep.

Burned up a couple hundred 40s&w only to find that the CZ TSO rear sight had become loose and shifted. I thought something was off at Wednesday night pistol league but also thought it was just stress.

Came home and fixed that issue and will be bringing the sight pusher to the range today to put another 100 down range.

Set the LNL AP up to load 40 so I have more practice rounds.

Swapping the Leupold VXII 2-7x33 scope off my hunting rifle this morning to my Savage bolt 22lr as I got a new Leupold VX 3HD for the hunting rifle on its way here.

Vacation shooting is keeping me very busy. Rain is expected tomorrow so I will probably load tomorrow.

If they continue to do that, maybe try a different bullet (assuming they are available.) Many years ago, I switched from the Speer 170grn to the Winchester 170grn, all else staying the same, and my groups tightened up by half, in my brother's 336. I was astounded.

Loading .45-70 (et al) is just a hoot. Not as tedious as bottleneck cartridges, and there is something very satisfying about dumping all that powder into that big coffee can of a case, and putting that big hunk of lead (or copper...) on top.

    --

continuing with my .308 case prep... turned down a few odd headstamp .308 cases I had in other lots, about 125 in total. I see that I have about 125 PMJ (Korean surplus) and 200 PPU cases to go... and then I'll be done with .308 for a long while.

It was an operator head space error. I was chasing shots all over trying to get an initial zero for the new sights. The test didn’t show anything conclusive so I think I’m just going to load these up with the old recipe and call it good.

I have been neglecting my reloader, but I did add this led light bulb thing to my mancave. Wow! What an improvement!

One of those three winged led light bulbs that screw into a light bulb socket. Like you to see on tv. 4000 lumens.
If your reloading area is dark....

My friend at the LGS called to let me know some primers landed... I have now stocked 5k of Federal AR Match SRP... Pays to have friends at the LGS. Also picked up 4 new 10rd mags for the 22lr. It shot great today with the scope swap as did the CZ TSO.

What was the price per thousand on those primers?

Separated brass from a recent range trip.
    9mm, 38 Spl, 44 Spl, 32 Long.

And a single piece each of 40 SW, and 45 GAP.

No idea where those last 2 came from. We didn't shoot any of that.

Deprimed the brass from my short range trip today. Confirmed that anywhere from 44.3-44.8gr of N150 under a 165 btsp is consistently sub moa in my .308. Also had a partial case head separation on one of the pieces of brass, this was only it's 3rd firing. H4831SC in my .243 started out not so good, but when the charges got higher, the groups got smaller. The last group was about 3/4", and no pressure signs, so I'm going to cautiously keep going up even though I'm not quite at book max yet. I even scored on about 80pcs of LC .223 brass doing range gremlin work while barrels were cooling down.

I wasn’t in the reloading room today, but I did shoot a reload that I put together with a new-to-me powder today.

    .38 Spl cases, 4.1 Gr HP-38 under a Berrys 125 gr LRNFP. 10 yds, two-handed DA.

Man, these are soft recoiling and accurate as heck, the first 18 I fired from a newly acquired 4” S&W 67 no dash went right at the POI at ten yards (slightly right, I need to adjust sights.) I couldn’t ask for better first-time-shooting-this-combo results :).

    7A166FEC-BAFB-4280-B757-521ABD662F17.jpeg

When powder/primer palooza returns and reloading things can be bought for reasonable prices again, I’m buying 8 pounds of this stuff and loading more. I seriously think HP-38 may just bump Unique off as my #1 powder for .38 Spl.

    Stay safe.

Not too much on the reloading bench. Mainly replaced a de-capping pin that broke last run and I had to swap one from another die. Put away the range brass I got today along with what I shot. Was able to get a good day of shooting in with the Model 23. Breaking in a new barrel. Shot 150 40 S+W Factory rounds 165gr and 155 gr. .Had 2 FTE on factory ammo Could have been the new barrel. Seems to be bulging cases as well. I need to run the old stock barrel and compare for s's+g's. Shot 25 factory 124gr 9mm using conversion barrel(Which is fairly new), ran them all fine. Shot all of my 9mm HP loads. About 35 - 115GDHP @5.3 cfep. Did a little penetration test with those vs. 90 grXTP 6.2 cfep rounds on a 2x4 about 20 feet. I should have taken pictures, but the 115's seemed to have more wood splintering upon exit, while the 90's had a slightly cleaner exit, and the hole's were kind of stepped. Shooting them both felt good. and they were going where I pointed. Just need to change my ejector as it likes to put the brass in the middle of your forehead with 9mm lol. Good for active training right? The cases don't seem to have any significant bulging, But I haven't totally gone through all of them.
Running 6.2of CFEP with the Remmy 1 1/2's was a slight concern, but didn't have any primer bulging, and cases look ok. I think I'm going up to maybe 5.5 on the gold dots. 5.7 is my max on that powder. But I have plenty of other powder options. I guess it's time to get a Chrony and start making some ladders, maybe some ballistic gellatin as well since I can't seem to find the Glock parts I need atm. Hope everyone's weekend is productive in whatever way.

I have made a test batch of 38 wadcutter for my Colt 38 wadcutter midrange.
Bullets homemade by a great friend of mine, i a mold that I bought from a old gunsmith, the same great man that sold me the Colt 38 wadcutter gun.

Trying to find time to get study/weapon room reorganized before should replace. Trying to figure out where to mount the IF Jr mounts on the “bench” in there, then take the other other IF mounts and mount them between the garage and barn. I like options and the IF quick change tops are a blessing.

Need to pick through my 45ACP tote and sort the SP brass from the LP brass. Seems that most are Federal headstamped.

Trying to organize the ammo/brass shelves. Making a place for all the different cartridges in some semblance of order.
    32 Auto, 32 S&W, 32 S&W Long, 380 Auto, 9mm Luger, 38 Spl, 357 Mag, 360DW, 41 Mag, 44 Spl, 44 Mag, .223 Rem, .30-30, .30-06, 7.62x54r, 6.5x55 Swede.

    Next it's dies and tools.

Seems that about the time I get organized, some guy comes home with a gun that shoots a completely new cartridge, and everything has to be redone.

I kinda like the way that guy thinks.....

Loaded up a quick 100 rounds of 40s&w on the LNL AP. Weather looks good so I am going to go burn them up and spend some time with the Savage Mark II. Might also bring my son and have him sight in his AR build we did a year ago as he has yet to shoot it.

I am as amazed as you are at how well HP-38 performed with this load combo... I have a second load ready to go with a Brazos coated 150 long-nosed SWC over the same 4.1 gr HP-38 charge. I was in such a hurry to saddle up and hit the range I left the box of these on my shelf... along with my prescription shooting glasses :fire:.

Unique has been in my reloading room since day one, I never thought it would be possibly replaced by any powder for the mid-range revolver load world I prefer to inhabit. (H-110, Enforcer, etc. handles the high powered magnum stuff when I desire to shoot some.)

Now I will say HP-38 powder has impressed me for .38 loads so I won’t be straying too far... “The U” will still be used religiously for most of my other revolver needs.

    Stay safe.

No... I got you. I've used W231 for 200grn .45ACP loads with good results, and if I still loaded .38's I would likely use it for mid-range loads, too. It's a good powder, for sure.

I put together some 150 SWC and 4.1 gr HP-38 as well... and promptly left them at home yesterday o_O.
I’ll give them a whirl next range trip.

Prepped and primed 101 new Lapua 6 BR brass , third box in a row with 101 in it . I am trying Remington 7 1/2s for the first time in the 6 BR , always used CCI 450s but thought I would try something different .

    I use 4.3 gr HP-38 with a home-cast Lee 125 gr RNFP.
It gives between 820-840 fps in a 6" barrel revolver.

I load these by the hundred, it's my go-to load for casual shooting.

Tested a bunch of loads today. 77gr TMKs with TAC and BL-C(2) and 115gr FMJ from RMR with 231. Everything went well and found what my guns liked for each. Going to crank out a few hundred of each for next weekend. Also verified some Hornady target loads with CFE223 that I made 1k of a few weeks ago. Good trip. Ready for another.
