Got my Lyman Gen6 working again and loaded Some 180 TSSX to try out in my 300wm.

I also loaded some on my new dropper.
The Lyman wouldn't pass calibration the last time I used it so I've been messaging Lyman back and forth for almost two weeks. After determining that I had the right ac adapter, had no powder under the scale tray, and had no loose powder to be heard inside the housing, they finally advised me how to make an adjustment which did fix it. Pm if me if you want to know more.
In the meantime was trickling charges on my bench scale. Since I didn't know how long Lyman and I were going to play message tag before getting an RA, I picked up the FA Intellidropper. I have to say, I like it better than the Gen 6. If it holds up and keeps performing like it did tonight, the lyman may get kicked off the bench and boxed up for stand by. The FA metered H4350 and 4064 very well, still need to try it on others.

I just finished depriming a coffee can of range brass that me and a buddy picked up Monday. All 9mm and 223 except for a half dozen 380's. Thats about normal! Also pulled 1000 pieces of 223 out of the range brass tub to start prepping to load.

I also had a first today. When I finished depriming the 9mm and switched shell holders for the 223 the depriming pin would not enter the first piece of 223 brass. Apparently one of the last 9mm's had an empty 22 rimfire case in it that my depriming pin punched through stayed stuck on the depriming pin.

Another buddy just dropped off a partial bucket of wheelweights that I'll probably sort this afternoon.

Worked all night, but got some loads done this morning. Worked up a ladder of 45-70 (405gr Missouri RNFP over IMR4198) and a ladder of 30-30 (165gr Missouri Whitetail sized at .311 over IMR4198). Started working on a ladder of 50 Beowulf (400gr Missouri Crusher RNFP over Accurate 1680), but got so tired I was starting to loose focus. Decided to give it a rest until tomorrow. On a side note, black bullets and nickel brass look really good together!

200 rounds of 9mm on the 550. I did it pretty leisurely and took me 40 minutes. Felt good to be back by myself with a little Pink Floyd playing in the background. Sometimes the press just runs good, with no screw ups. I knew it was going to be a good day when my 2 sleeves of CCI primers were all facing the same way lol.

Picked up 50# of 45acp brass and 30# of 38spl brass. Need to pick through it and get it sorted, cleaned, and prepped.
Local guy met me in the pouring rain to deliver it.
Well worth the price he wanted.

Insomnia strikes again…. Been up since about 3:00AM. Went ahead and did the ladder work up I started yesterday. 50 Beowulf (400gr. Missouri Crusher RNFP over Accurate 1680). Had a little SNAFU trying to get an OAL figured out, since this is not a published load. I tried seating to the first driving band. And actually ran off about a dozen rounds at that depth, but that was giving me an OAL of 2.035……VERY short. So I decided to seat to the second band. The first OAL I tried was 2.170. No good! Wouldn’t go into battery in my rifle. So, I seated to the very top of the second band and that gave me 2.145. Winner! I’m not exactly….. sure how far off the lands I am, but I figure at least 0.015. They hand cycled with ease. I just hope they cycle through my buddy’s rifle as well…. We’ll see this morning at the range. It’s going to be a mostly big bores day….. Two Beowulfs, a 45-70, a 460 S&W, a 50AE, two 45 ACPs, and a couple pea shooters (a 30-30 and a 30-06).
I’m hoping these Crushers do as well as the 400gr Win. Platinum Tip loads I came up with. Will report back with results.

Got chores done and then did some shooting. 22-250 with an RCBS 60g fueled by H4198. It was interesting, had 2... 10 round plastic sleeves already loaded up. 10 were RP cases, other 10 was Hornady. Now,I'm not gonna base any rash decisions but, same load, same day, yadayada. But there was a marked difference between the two case brands,on accuracy. I'll reverse the order next time. It could simply be the barrel heating up?

Wind was also a factor. Got the parts coming for some new windflags. The doodoo ones I've been using ain't hitting on much. Started loading up the emptys, will finish this afternoon.

Loaded up some N135 and AR Comp ladders in the .308 and .223 I prepped this week, 165 Interlocks in .308, 77 SMKs in .223.

Also had to satisfy a curiosity. When I load my standard 24.0 TAC/75bthp in .223 they always seem to group a little better with a light or medium crimp. I had 24 I loaded a while ago with no crimp, left 8 with no crimp, put a light crimp on 8, and put a medium crimp on 8. Curious to see if the numbers on the Chrono change.

Loaded up a dozen and a quarter of the new match burners for testing purposes with some TAC powder. Finally finished loading the last of my 77 gr SMKs, and deprimed a 1lb powder can full of 308, 223, and 9mm brass. There were a few 30-30 cases too for spice.

Loaded 500 .357 magnum target loads. 7.2 grains of Power Pistol, and Brazo's 158gr SWC coated.
It's a good combo. Light recoil, easy to control, and to light to have any flash.

    Friday cast,eye candy. Little antique hall table we resto'd,sits right outside loading room.... keep a stack of CBA magazines on it. Thought this one looked cool next to;

RCBS 60g for 22-250 waiting to be very lightly lubed and loaded over honest to goodness SR4759. Been using the 4198's and zero complaints. Got a 4831 load that is blistering, and scary accurate. This load should be around 2kfps. Looking for some feedback from this powder?

Not really reloading, but my reloading bench doubles as the "working on guns" bench. I swapped the 19" handguard on my LR308 for a 15". I liked the 19" handguard on the 20" barrel, but I'm digging this 15" on it! I'm going to use the 19" on a 24" barrel 6.5 CM I am in the process of building. They are the same make and use the same barrel nut, so it was quick. I also cleaned up my 16" AR 15 that needed it pretty bad. A DLC coated bcg sure cleans up quickly!

Prepped cases and loaded 40 pieces of .357M; 20 ea with W231 and Power Pistol; both using CCI SPP and Hornady 125 gr XTP.

Also prepped and loaded 30 pieces of .270W using Hornady soft point Spitzers and CCI BR LRPs; tightening down on a nice load between 54.1 and 54.3 gr H4350.
And I used up a dozen or so Speer 130 gr .277 soft point boat tail bullets found in the bottom of a recent auction tray; same loads as above.

Had mixed success rates at the range. My loads of 50AE 330gr ACME HiTek over H110 went very well, other than my buddy falling backwards into the creek trying to retrieve a piece of my brass…. Had very nice groups, although low to point of aim, with no noticeable leading. My 50 Beowulf loads of 400gr Missouri HiTek RNFP over Accurate 1680 performed respectably out of both our rifles. Not nearly as good as my 400gr Win. Platinum Tip load, but good enough for blasting ammo.
That’s about all of the positive results…. My 30-30 loads of 165gr Missouri HiTek over IMR4198 performed abysmally at all charges. My target, at 50 yards, looked like a buckshot pattern….. Started seeing some semblance of accuracy towards the upper end of my ladder tests, but nothing to write home about. Had nearly the same results with my 45-70 loads of 405gr Missouri HiTek over IMR4198. Best group I managed was around 3” at 50 yards, way right of point of aim.
On to the 460 S&W….. 325gr Missouri HiTek WFN over H110. Had decent accuracy after the second set of rounds. Checked my barrel and found quite a bit of leading towards the muzzle. Granted, I did not clean it after the last time I took it out, and I had shot some HSM Bear Loads in it that time, which are WFNGC. It may have already been leading. I’m going to load some more of them up and bring a well cleaned gun next time and see if they do in fact lead.
My second ladder test of 45ACP 230gr Missouri HiTek over Ramshot Competition seated to minimum OAL for my buddy’s gun didn’t work out very well either. I plunked them in hi barrel and hand cycled several of them through his gun when I loaded them. They seemed like they were going to work fine, but they did not…. Still wouldn’t cycle them. They worked fine in mine though….
All in all, I’m back to the drawing board…..
