We moved last Spring and it took me a while to get my new room set up. It was worth it!

Bench is still at other house. But, daughter moved in a couple months ago. She is wanting my reloading room out of "her" walk-in closet.

I move at my speed, though. If you can call it "speed".

While watching football last night, I sized & decapped probably three hundred 357 Magnum cases with the Lee Hand Press; my shoulders are a bit sore today.

I think I'm going to prime a small batch and try some wadcutter loads in them with about 3.2 gr. of HP38 and magnum primers.

    I'll try them out of my S&W 19 and 3" Ruger SP-101.

Recovering from my trip to my brother's house. I built him an AR upper to replace the sketchy DPMS upper on the AR I gave him a few years ago. We were able to go range test it... everything worked lickety split.

I got the old upper back to the Cave... and I found out why it never shot that well: The barrel nut was on hand tight. I pulled the gas tube... and spun the nut off with my hands. Crazy. That tells me the barrel wasn't the problem... it was the build, per se. I'mma rebuild the upper, buy a complete lower from PSA, and decide what I'm going to do with it then.

I'll have to reload the AR mags in my ready box... thank goodness I took it with me. My brother only has M855, and the range we went to wouldn't allow it... and my mags were loaded with M193.

Busy week this week... so the remaining pile of .308 brass left to trim will just have to wait...

Reloading room is a disaster. Moved some stuff around for electrician to install a 4 receptacle box on a dedicated 30 amp breaker. I’ll be using it to power a small 1500 watt heater that keeps the approx 12x14 reloading room heated.

Loaded up 20 rounds of 30-06 with 165gn Hornady Interlocks over some IMR 4451, then sized and deprimed 500 9MM… on a single stage. I’m a glutton for punishment.

I’ll probably size and deprime another 500 9MM in a few days.

Cleaned primer pockets with my K&M primer pocket uniformer, getting ready to start priming them. Pic is of my large K&M, no pic of the small one. I meant to take a pic of it in the hobby lathe earlier, but forgot. :)

I powder coated 50 Lee C358 200 RF that I casted yesterday. I've got my OAL figured out for my 357 and narrowed down the powders I want to test out. Trailboss for light, Accurate #9 for midrange to high, and H110 for barn burners.

Curious what the difference in a max load of #9 vs 110 gets you. Between that and 2400 they all seem to shift places for max velocity depending on who is testing. Never shot a 200, not enough room to load even a 180 without rolling into a bullet.

Started getting gear ready for a return trip to Deer Camp this weekend. Rifle, Ammo, Binoculars, Rangefinder, ect. While I was doing that FedX delivered my MidSouth order so I opened it up and put the brass away on my brass shelf. Don't sound like much but now I'm tired! ;) A happy tired, but tired! :)

30-30 is my experiment cartridge. It's in a strong manual action rifle and can be readily downloaded or pushed as hard as you want right up to max. I've not tried any cast bullets heavier than the Acme 135 grain bullet. My rifle shoots cast better than jacketed in about every combo I've tried, though considerably slower. The Lyman Cast Bullet Manual recommends velocity below 1600 fps for best accuracy in my microgrooved barrel. I'll be watching to see how things work for you. Also, it's good to know reloading cures the flu or whatever you had.

Also, loaded the rest of my 147-grain XTP bullets over a near max charge of CFE-Pistol. None of my 9s really like them, but they're pretty good in all of them, from 3.1" to 16.5" barrels.

Dropped powder in 89 cases tonight, then seated bullets. Checked some random rounds for concentricity.

Ran a load of brass in the wet tumbler. While that was running I loaded up a detail ladder of 175 smks over IMR 4064 in .308, 80.5 bergers over H4895 in .224 Valkyrie, and 20 more rounds of 240xtps and N110 in 44 mag for my wife's deer rifle. Then pulled the brass out of the wet tumbler and into the dehydrator, and started looking at 124gr plated 9mm loads with N320 since I scored some locally today!

I don't know that I've ever had a pistol not shoot the XTP well, in a variety of cartridges, including 9mm. Maybe try a different powder?

The first thing that came to mind for that was roll some with power pistol or be-86 and retest.

I don't know about BE-86, but Unique has always worked well for me. Imagine that... :)

Just to be clear, I mean they’re not as good as my target loads. The heavy XTPs in my Blackhawk shoot extremely well. In 9 I’m trying to split the difference between my 2 S&Ws and my sons Canik.

Sorted and put away the brass I tumbled yesterday, and spent some more time looking at 124gr plated 9mm loads with N320. Looks like my normal 1.135" from 3.8-4.2gr will be a good range to try out!

I hit post reply, then put my phone down, and picked my phone back up 44 min later, hit reload, and it decided to post the same reply again!

My uncle is in town for a few days and I walked him through his first 4 reloads of 38 special ever. I would have done more but was the only empty cases I had.... spreading the knowledge.
