Holy cow. That's our price ($10.81)as an FFL so they are are marking it up almost double? Geez... You'd think things like that would only be a few bucks of markup as a "loss leader" to get people to buy other stuff.

OK. Thank you for the information. My howa barreled action is supposed to have a match barrel on it. Been getting more accurate the more “broke in” it gets. For the money, it’s been pretty impressive so far.

Cast more Lee 125gr RNFP .357", I'm not sure why...

    I just like casting.

I already have pounds of this bullet in red, green and black and 1k or so black .38spl already loaded over some Titegroup (the one and only cartridge I use this powder for.)

    Maybe I'll make these blue...

...gota few hundred nickel .38spl brass laying around here somewhere...

Got to the range this afternoon!
Shot a BUNCH of 45 ACP! Not pictured is the 47 more rounds of Winchester White Box stuff and 20rds of Federal Punch and 20rds of Hornady Critical Defense. Those last two I left the brass for some one else as it was small pistol. Call it my good faith gesture for the year lol.
My ammo can that I used to transport my stuff is way lighter now lol.

230gr+p kicked way harder than last time I shot it. I was wearing gloves last time which explains the difference lol. I would NOT want to be a bad guy robbing me though... Lol!

I'm abandoning longshot in 45 ACP after this experience with only 9 rounds, group size is trash, I had powder residue in my eyes like crazy and I thought the muzzle flash was excessive.
See next pics for CFE Pistol groups!!!

    1st group with CFE Pistol!

15rds of Winchester White Box 230gr FMJ for funsies. Decent ammo actually!!

    Loaded 82 rounds of 7.62 x 39:

    Geco brass
    Nosler 123 gr tipped VG
    A1680 powder
    Win LR primers

Ran out of A1680 . Will use CFE BLK going forward with 123 +- bullets. I have already worked up loads using CFE BLK.

Do You swage primer pockets ? or load Maximum loads ?. I've personally Never reloaded ANY brass case which was not good for a minimum of #8 reloads and that was before I started annealing . WHY are your cases primer pockets loosening after #3 reloads ??

Deprimed and cleaned the pockets on 60+ pieces of 7.62x54r brass. Brushed the necks, then annealed the bunch.
Neck sized and primed the batch, ready to load up.

I'm cogitating a load for the M96 Swede. Something for the 200 to 300 yard line. I have some 140 gr Hornady, and some H414 that isn't doing anything...

    No clue.

I don't swage commercial brass, but I did use a flash hole uniformer on them. My remaining brass prep steps are all at the other end (length trim, chamfer).

Loads for the Federal brass were from mid-range to max for both Varget with 77gr Sierra HPBTs, and CFE223 with using 80gr ELD-MT. Also, only using CCI BR-4 primers. (So the first cycle was as factory rounds followed by two cycles as reloaded brass. Three total firing cycles).

Since I don't anneal, I generally follow the old rule of thumb for bottleneck cases in gas guns: 5 reloads then recycle

Meanwhile, my Hornady brass has demonstrated no problems with length, case neck or primer pocket. These started as factory ELD-Ms followed by two reloadings as break-in rounds (mid-range CFE 223 w/PPU 62gr BTFMJs), followed by two reloadings with 77gr Sierra HPBTs, and CFE223 with using 80gr ELD-MT. Haven't fired the last batch of reloaded cases yet.

I am moving to a new house. So I have packed up my reloading room. I look forward to building a new bench and storage.

Sized, flared and primed 50 pieces of .44 Magnum brass. Drill night tomorrow, so charging and seating will have to wait until Thursday night.

Small update, I went on GRT and put in 45acp data with Longshot and it told me what I had suspected, it's too slow and is not burning all the powder in the barrel. Now I put in my CFE Pistol load and it looks perfect! I played with the charge weight and at 7.3gr Its calculated to be JUST over 20k psi which would technically be under max spec for pressure, but it's also rocking and rolling at 970fps out of a 5in barrel! With the 6.9gr load it's "only" just shy of 940 and developing a bit over 18k psi.
How accurate have y'all seen GRT data be in real life?
I'm VERY hesitant to believe a computer though, I'm not going to be using that to make load data unless I can find a reputable source that recommends it.

Simple, get both. I have 4" model 19, a 8-3/8" 686, and a 6" model 29. Wouldn't trade or sell 'em for anything. You will need to start casting though, both calibers are addicting and they will need fed a steady diet. I'll help you with brass, which ever you decide.

I would agree but the problem being not many .41’s are being made and the ones that are call for a big bank book.
