This looks like one I'll need to try. Is this a match load or just for fun. I'm working my way around testing that bullet and length. 24.4 varget was my match load but recently played with tac, n150, aa4064 and a few others. Shooters World match rifle currently loaded for testing on the weekend, but one of the 40 series will be up when I can find a can.....

Okay, so now I've finished reuniforming my Winchester test cases. Additional brass was uniformed (v. to uniform) out of most but not all cases. Won't have to do this again for maybe ever.

Seventeen cases had no additional brass removed. Found four cases that didn't belong meaning on Monday I lost 12 not 8. Bad day at black rock.

These cases are ready to prime but sadly I've run out of my SyA and must use CCI. Not a big problem but I wanted to save the latter and have grown fond of the former.

Got my old little Lee C Frame mounted to a block of old 2X6 (oddly enough the block was about the perfect shape to mount the press. It was just laying on the floor)View attachment 1260998
I still have one of those C presses. I used it for years, then it got a stress crack where the toggle bolted through the red frame. I sent it back to Lee with (I think) $5, and they sent me a new one. :D

I don’t have room on my bench for it right now, so it sits on the shelf until I can put together a new bench or find a way to squeeze it in.

Glad to see someone is still using these little guys.

Stay safe.

Mine used to get used for universal de-capping and push-through bullet sizing. It got overlooked for a long time under the bench and I decided to dust er off and get it going again. Nothing wrong with it at all. Little shaky, a little rattly, but will load ammo just fine.

Funny thing about this press is that I got it from Midway USA. That's not the funny part.........When I called Midway to buy Dick Lee's 2nd addition reloading manual I was told it was around 27 bucks (early 2000s), or..........If I got the "bundle" they were offering it was 22 bucks for that press and the manual. I told the girl on the phone that made no sense. She agreed, but said I can get the book and throw the press out if I wanted to, all the while saving 5 bucks! This is when they had their really great shipping rates too. Not sure if this deal was because they had my FFL on file or not. I jumped on it though!

Until someone pays me to shoot, it's all just for fun 😁

Because of that, I try to find a deal here or there to keep costs low. The bullets and powder were purchased at a significant discount, which prompted me to give the combo a try.

In testing a few weeks ago, this load averaged 2882 FPS from a 24" Krieger, and was accurate enought to hit a 24x24" target at 1000 yards repeatedly.

I sold my little Lyman C press to my co worker to get him started. I’m kinda wishing I had one more single to do miscellaneous things. I have the cure.. extra turrets for my American 8 I’m not using. Would Need to have a wrench handy to change them out. Need to look into it

You're loving that Lyman stuff, aren't ya? I have yo say I'm pretty impressed with their 8 station turret. Probably would have bought one if I didn't already have the RCBS turret.

Currently 4 holes are for 38spc and other is misc 44 stuff. Would like to maybe setup another turrent head strictly 357 with all the goodies stock crimp and FCD ( which I like- fire missles away!) lol
My issue is I like to fill the holes with stuff that normally doesn't belong there...powder feed die, powder checker die, bullet feeder, separate crimp die...you run out of empty holes really quickly. I could see the 8 hole turret being a huge advantage over my 6.

An interesting thread today, gents. Good reading as usual.

Speaking of Lyman, I am at the bench putting together an order from Midway and from Amazon. This order includes my very first LYMAN die order. I am dedicating my old RCBS 9mm dies (from 1993 ish) to my Piggyback progressive attachment and leaving them in the press, so I need single stage 9mm replacement dies for the standard Rock Chucker. I have wanted to try Lyman for a long time. I do not expect a huge difference between Lyman VS Hornady or RCBS, or Lee, but I want to start getting some Lyman tools on my bench just because. Do I need them? Nope. Do I want them? Yep. Funny thing? Until 1991, I lived about 1 hour's drive from Lyman's HQ. I drove by that facility dozens of times, but in the 1980s and early 1990s I was not yet into reloading. I set my first bench up with an RCBS Rock Chucker kit in 1993.

Speaking of Lee, I always had them on the back burner. I never thought that much of them in the past. That thinking has changed. I now have their hand press with a few of their Breech Lock die sets for Range Reloading, their Ultimate die set for 303 British, Richard Lee's "Modern Reloading" volume II and various Lee accessories. I now think that Lee offers great value for the price.

I'm pressing the ORDER button on a few things at the bench here, including a Lee Precision 9700 Bench Priming Tool. Do I really need it? Nope. But I want it. :)

Then I think I'm going to sit here with Richard Lee's "Modern Reloading" manual and do some reading with another cup of coffee while listening to my bench stereo in the background. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon, eh?

I found it’s the most handy press when I need to use the Lee Ram Prime.

If you need more, NormaUSA still has SyA SPP for $45/1K and free shipping over $150.
