What have you done in the reloading room today

Makes two of us. Uncle Larry must be busy with all those tax checks coming in… Sadly I paid in and had to make sure that was covered before I continued my spending.
Ditto. We’re in one of those tax brackets. We pay through the year and then pay more. We’re lucky I guess.

I went looking at the websites for some of my favorite cast bullet sellers only to find none of them have inventory.

Eggelston on that list? I like these folks. Bullets are cool as a cool cat

I finished some 44 Spl loads today, then decided to put together a small order from Midway while I was at the bench. I started with a few items. 20 minutes later I had added a dozen more items. 10 minutes later it was even bigger. I decided to pass on pressing the ORDER button and turned the laptop off because it was getting out of control. I'll try again later and exercise more restraint on adding-on to what I really need, not what I think I would like to have just because.
Use their wish list feature. I use it, add items as they come to mind. You can create additional lists. I have a list of Priority items, Save for later, and On order. Items can easily be moved from one list to the other. I'd be very broke if I ordered my entire wish list. Every few weeks I place an order.

Just finished adding a splash of color to my 4000. Always hated the roller handle, it never let my wrist rotate correctly with the bend in the rod. Cut the rod, ran a die down the end, tapped the hole in a cheap shifter knob (was too small originally), and I like the result.

Got some brass out to try 53gr HP's with N135 and PP Varmint in .223, then pulled apart my wife's shotgun, and did a bit of wiping and oiling. She got caught in the rain turkey hunting this morning, so it got soaked. She did get a big ole tom though!

Yes sir. A good tip. Between my Midway "Wish List" and the Amazon's "Save For Later List", I probably have around 200 items waiting to be added to the shopping cart and then proceeded to checkout. Amazon's is the worst. This time of year with range season in full bloom, Midway takes priority.

I refuse to admit that I may have dumped a bunch of H322 on my bench in this manner. Never happened.
Well, since it 'never happened' I'll give you a free hint so it 'never will'...Cut a chunk of old garden hose slightly shorter than the drum stem (or whatever it's called)...slit it down one side, raise the drum up and slip it over the stem. The drum will now stay in the up position while you pull the release and swap the metering screw with the drain tube. Then you can hold the drum up, slide the hose off and release the drum. I use a fired case with spent primer still installed to push the drum up with the press handle. Now you'll never know how it feels to vacuum up a half pound of H322!;)

My accountant has told me from day one that you are best off owing Uncle Sam "Just a bit", rather than Sammy owing you money for a refund. His theory being if you pay in too much over the year, they have your money all year and then send it back to you with no interest. Best having that money working for you during the year to do with as you please and then sending Sam a small payment for any deficit. As long as it's not a major payment. Then you would have to make adjustments for next year.

Sitting at the bench wondering what is in store for today. Just pressed ORDER on a smaller Midway order. They actually have Varget in stock in a 1# bottle. Talk about shocking. I have not seen that in stock in a very long time. My preferred powder for 303 British. So reloading 303 will e on the bench soon. Such a nice day I have to get to the range. It's an outdoor range. I might finish reloading a few 380 on the Piggyback since that's already set up and then head to the range.

Have a good day, gents.

Well... I'm self-employed... so I pay in all year long, and then pay even more when I file. It always reminds me of that scene in Night at the Museum...

"You gotta PAY!!!"

"Pay? Pay for what?!?!"

"I don't know... just PAY!"

You knew about this and didn’t send up flares!?🤣

Back in the office for a day of meetings - all online. I can do that from home and get some much needed brass prep done at the same time. 🤬

I got everything ready for a marathon tumbling session this morning before leaving. Four pounds of mixed .38Spl and a little shy of five pounds of 9mm. Gift brass. It’s all pretty dirty and there’s some verdigris but it ought to clean up fine.

Happy shooting!
THANKS! It was actually great. My gun club only has outdoor shooting, so days like this with no wind (so I can easily use my range reloading kit wihout powder blowing all over the place) and super pleasant skin temperature is rare. You gotta' take advantage of that. I was there for three hours. And I enjoyed every one of them. I almost took my rod and reel and did some fly fishing in the stocked pond, but decided to go horseback riding instead. Just a great day to be outside.

I know, I should have pushed the big red shiny button that says "HIGH FLAIR ALARM!" Varget, IN STOCK in 1# bottles at Midway? Like playing the lottery these days. I only need 1 # at a time since I only reload 303 British rifle with it, so it lasts quite a long time.

Last night I loaded up some 5.56 ammo with some 62 gr BTSP bullets listed as "seconds" from Powder Valley. I am 90% certain they are Speer Gold Dots, which I have never loaded before. So, I loaded Ramshot TAC with Remington 7 1/2 primers in Frontier cases. Ten rounds each at 23.0 gr, 23.5 gr, 24.0 gr, 24.5 gr and 25.0 gr. It will be interesting to see which shoots most accurately. With the Hornady 62 gr BTHP, I have had good results at 24.5 gr, but these Gold Dots may like it slower (or faster?). Hope to test tomorrow after a bullseye shoot.

Got the dies 357/38 taper crimp die set I got off of eBay. Seller stated opened but unused. That appears to be the case upon inspection. As a bonus, there was an RCBS No 6 shell holder in the case. OK deal at $46 after shipping and taxes.

Just ordered a Redding seater/roll crimp die to complete two 4 die sets for two different setups.

I’ve been busy with a day off work with a busted thumb! Hard to do all this with one hand basically. Sized all my xtreme 38 cases, organized a cabinet, ammo cart, sorted all my nickel WW cases by cannelure, put my freshly received matts bullets 200G .430 no lube wadcutters in a can. Got 120 rounds of that nickel 38 ready to prime. I wanted to shoot my new 27 today but that wasn’t a good idea!

OUCH! That looks swollen and painful.

Making space in a lower cabinet so I can relocate some tools and use the freed up space in the uppers for powder. I had to make labels for the items so I could tell what they were from the ends. I dislike the little black FCD boxes.
