What if the only handguns you could own are revolvers?

I'd either be carrying a 5 inch 27

...or a 4 inch 28

I'm confortable enough in the use of these weapons that I wouldn't have a problem with carrying them. I'd just be carrying multiple speedloaders as well.

my ccw gun is a revolver, specifically a Taurus 605.

If you remove politics from the argument, it wouldn't bother me all that much if I couldn't have anything but an revo. The only autos I would really miss would be my MkII's, to be honest. The rest of my autos could all be replaced pretty easily by revolvers.

My 4" Model 65 and one of the stainless bodyguard models in .38 or .357. Also like to pick up a few .22 revolvers.
Lots of options in the revolver category.

I banned semis once and for all a while ago. They bite me too often, and their triggers are nasty. Instead I have two of the finest carry handguns ever made, a Colt Detective Special (second gen) and a Ruger Speed Six. Plus a big .44 Bisley-Vaquero. Bottom feeders need not apply!

If we're going to indulge in a 'revolver's only scenario', then I'm going to be Indulgent.

Didn't see any limit on capacity - a 7 or 8 shot .357 for primary would be sweet, with a snubbie BUG maybe?

Probably go with what I already have:

1) S&W 686 4" for home
2) SYW 60 3" for the away

I'd need to get some sort of .22 for plinking as my current .22 pistol is semi-auto. Probably get a S&W - maybe a 317 3".

Of course, since I'm already shopping, I'd also need a S&W 629 5" to round-out the stable.

Mateba .357 magnum w/4" barrel.

That'll satisfy my need for an "automatic".

I already have a revolver, my SW 586 w/6" barrel and old-school bluing.

I would get the new S&W Thunder Ranch 325 for home defense and duty use and a J-frame for off duty.

I have owned a bunch of both over the years but for some reason today I own three handguns and they just happen to be all revolvers - so not a problem for me.

One in .22LR , One in .32 H&R mag., and one in .44 Mag.

covers all my needs .

Wow. No autos, eh?

After I got over the separation anxiety of losing my beloved 9mms, I would likely be equally happy with

3" .357 Magnum (GP100 flavor please)
4" .357 Magnum (either a S&W 27/28 or a GP100)
6" .357 Magnum (GP100 again)

The .357 Magnum *was* after all my first real handgun.

Where I live, there ain't nothin' that can't be accomplished with one of the above beautiful pistols. I figure giving up my 9mms ought to get me at least two new pistolas.

Now....who pays for ammo in this scenario of yours?? :neener:

Cheers!

I currently have a GP100 4" for home defense and a single six for plinking...was already going to get a Redhawk .44mag later this year.

In this scenario the only thing that would change would be buying a Ruger SP101 (to replace my now illegal XD9subcompact) for CCW to complete the Ruger revolver grandslam.

StrawHat. . .
That S&W mdl 25 is GORGEOUS!!!!!

Thanks alot. Now I've got drool all over my shirt.
Honestly, I LIKE IT!!!!!!
Is that a 4" or 3-1/2" barrel???

I can see a spot in my gunsafe where one of those would rest, nicely.

For me, if I were only allowed revolvers -

My S&W mdl 66 w/2-1/2" bbl
My S&W mdl 19-4 w/4" bbl
I have to find a S&W mdl 25 like StrawHat's
Will have to get a S&W mdl 625 (5" barrel, I think.)

My DW 44VH-8 w/VH-4 assembly.

Oh, another fantasy thread! For my part I don't want any handgun elimintated from civilian access. I mostly have revolvers, but I enjoy shooting the autos too.
