Including revolvers and autos, what is the best Taurus handgun ever produced? It doesnt matter what the caliber is, is there a Taurus handgun that, as a general rule, is a good handgun value?

I know that there are exceptions to the rule for every model but I am looking for the generally accepted quality Taurus handgun.

Thanks!

24/7 Pro DS has to get my vote. Mine's been flawless, other than being a bit too small for my hand.

The PT-92 Beretta copy has been picked up by the military police of Brazil and some other "developing nations." So, I think it would get my vote for the best. It is the most tested design and most widely used in military/police circels.

24/7 Pro DS gets my vote. Not one failure through thousands of rounds on mine. I have the 40 S&W version with 15+1 capacity.

Their best auto the PT1911 a really nice gun. Best revolver Raging Bull .44 the bull kicks less than a full size .357.

Sadly, the best Taurus made is the one that actually works every time. I've been lucky my one Taurus, a 617, has been a very reliable revolver, but I done believe I will buy another Taurus product. Life I just to short to not to have top shelf guns.

My 1911 I had for a while was good, but Id have to go with the 92.
Hate to say it but with the safety location I think I like it better than the original.

I had an original PT99AF "Brazilian Beretta" (the type that looked exactly like the Beretta). First gun I ever bought for myself brand new back in '84 or '85. Never had any problems with that gun. I would recommend that one to anyone without reservation. (I see the current version looks slightly different.)

I also owned a model 94 .22 revolver. (4" blue) That gun was reliable and accurate but had a pretty heavy DA trigger that I could never master. I had that one back to Taurus to see if they could do anything with it. To be honest, I think they returned it without doing anything to it. It had a great SA trigger but I just couldn't get used to the heavy DA. I'd have no problem recommending this one, either with a note about the DA pull.

The PT92 is an excellent gun. I owned one for quite sometime and never had a minute's trouble with it. I finally traded it off for something I wanted more. I also own a PT1911 and a 24/7 OSS LS. Both are excellent. I have shot both a bunch with no problems.
