Smith and Wesson Sigma 40VE. I did not have any problems with it until it had about 1,000 rounds through it then with both mags rounds started nose diving into the feed ramp and it was causing FTF. I replaced the mag springs with Wolf +5% power springs and it corrected the ftf issues and I sold the gun and used part of the money down on a Springfield XD 40 4" service stainless bi-tone.

On New Years Eve this year, wife son and I went to a gun shop around here to just look at the different weapons. I was excited to be going to look at them and so was my son. The place had a great selection and we held 5 or 6 different pistols.

Then the wife said okay we will get the one you like........I was floored. We got the Ruger SR40c and I absolutely love it

Mine was a H & R Topper model 20 gauge that was worn out with a broken ejector when I got 30+ years ago. I told my naive Mother it was a BB gun so she'd let me have it.
I shot the rest of the bluing off that thing and still have it in the safe today.

I was raised in an anti-gun house, so I didn't get my first gun until about 6 years or so ago.

A friend was cleaning up his house for sale and found a bag that had been unnoticed before in the attic. Inside the bag was a cracked and brittle holster. Through the gaps in the holster, you could barely make out an odd looking gun, with plenty of rust.

His wife hates guns, so he started to throw it away. He thought better of it and asked me to take it home and see what I could do with it.

Over the next couple of days, I was able to clean it up and get the parts moving again. It turned out to be a Luger P08 with matching serial numbers (including magazine), and a 1938 date stamp.

Since his wife didn't want a gun in the house, he sold it to me. I paid him $100, and I still have it.

The first gun I ever shot was a Winchester 69a with a cutdown stock and Lyman peep sight. I still have it and have restocked it to fit me now. The first gun I ever owned was my grandfather's 20 ga Remington model 11. Still have it, although Grampa pretty much wore it out. The first gun I ever bought was a S&W Model 28 "Highway Patrolman" in 357 that I bought from the late, lamented San Francisco Gun Exchange in 1986. Still have it too in mint condition.

Mossberg 500 combo in 12 gauge, given to me by my wife (with encouragement from my FIL). Came with a 28" vent rib barrel, and a 24" (IIRC) cylinder bore with rifle sights. I traded the cylinder bore for a 24" rifled barrel with cantilevered scope base, and added an 18.5" cylinder bore. Yes, I still have it and hunt with it regularly.

I was given a Savage 24s-e in .22LR/.410 as a first birthday present by an uncle. The gun itself is quite a bit older vintage than me, by about 25 years, serial number/letter stamp puts it at '59 far as I can tell.

The first gun I purchased with my own hard earned cash was a 1936 barreled Mosin Nagant 91/30. Have never owned a "new" firearm.

Might be dating myself .but, the first gun I bought myself and actually owned
was a Hi-Standard Duramatic .22 brand new for $30 or less tax and all, at a gun shop. Local hardware and local farmer co-op gas station/garage only sold rifles , shotguns and ammo. A new 870 12 ga. plain barrel was $49 at the co-op
a Model 12 Win was $69, ( dad bought an 870 , I still have it, he thought $69 for a pump gun was crazy, a good double barrel, maybe.

Glenfield Model 25 I got for my 12th birthday, 41 years ago. Yes I still have it.

My first gun was a S&W 469. 2nd-gen compact alloy-framed, hammer-fired S&W auto. Loved the gun for what it was; it would shoot rocks if you could load them in the magazine.

It shot low and inconstant in the horizontal, for me. Not sure if it was worn at lockup or if it was just the fat grips in my medium-glove-sized hands. Sold it for my CZ, which is as accurate as I can point it (decreasingly well across the day. :p )

The first gun I received--and it feels like the first one I owned--is my Ruger Mark 3 22/45. Dad gave it to me for my 23rd birthday, after I've already had several guns, but no .22 handguns.

My first gun was a Browning 12 ga. Upland special pump. I was 19 and my friends from college were going to the pit to shoot. Having no gun and no background we went up to the Kittery Trading Post so I could have something of my own to shoot for the day.

Great day and still have it. There was an old iron pipe about 8" dia. sticking out from the side of the pit wall. From some 100 yards away we were taking shots with 3" magmum slugs. I hit it a couple of times and upon inspection saw that it went through both sides! The power of that obviously made an impression that has lasted to this day.

My first gun was a Remington 514 single shot .22 I inherited from my older brother when he bought a JC Higgins pump .22. I was 8 years old at the time.

Marlin 39a from my Dad for my 15th birthday in 1957. Still an excellent rifle, and my grandson got to shoot it recently.

Ruger P345 in 2009. I passed 60 years before purchasing. Now I'm making up for lost time and try to shoot at least 100 rounds a month. My second is a Mosin-Nagant my son bought me for my birthday. My third is a Beretta Neos. Thats all at this point but I'm trying to get my wife to join me in shooting and will let her decide what she likes. I'll start her out on the Beretta and work up from there.

My first gun was this Krag .30-40 Carbine that I inherited from my Granddad back in the 1990's. He bought it from the Gubmint in the early 1930's (from the precursor of today's CMP).

He sporterized the stock like a lot of craftsmen of that period. The stock is apparently a rare original carbine stock.

My gun "firsts":

First gun: NEF Pardner 20ga shotgun (8 years old)
First gun I purchased myself: Savage 110 .30-06 (21 years old)
First handgun: Ruger P95 (22 years old)

I still own all 3 of those :).

My first ever was a Winchester 1300 shotgun. The vent rib on the barrel was warped. I took dozens if not hundreds of dove with that gun.

13 years ago, based on reading the books of Dick Marcinko, I bought a USP .40. Still have it, still carry it everyday.

First gun was a Daisy pump model BB gun for Christmas around 1963 when I was around 8. Bought my first real guns when I was 12. Got two 22's for 5 bucks. A single shot and a repeater. The repeater would shoot around corners, it was that bad. Never did figure it out. I still have the single shot and it remains the ugliest gun I've ever seen. The stock is terribly beat up and the metal isn't much to look at, but the old girl is still a tack driver. We shot thousands of rounds through that gun when I was growing up and I still shoot it occasionally. I gave my son his first gun when he graduated from high school. It was a Ruger 10/22. I bought a Henry Mini-Bolt for my grandaughter to use a couple of years back so that I could teach her the safe way to use firearms. Good Times.
