What is the last gun that you bought?

im close to getting the sig 1911 3.3" stainless upper

$889 is a bit steep though. i'll wait for some reports and possibly save with a used one.
it being 4 oz heavier than my defender may quiet the arthritis.

actually acquired was a gift--a colt 32 colt ( not the S&W 32 cartrage)
unlike my target 32 D.A. this one need tough scrub. bbl is good ( a test group of 5 proved it)
so the cleaning will be a worthwile project.

The last gun I bought was a very nice .38 Special S&W Model 10-5 with four inch tapered barrel and square butt the week before Christmas. The last gun I got was a .38 Special S&W Model 37 with the 1⅞ inch barrel and round butt in a straight trade on Christmas Day for a .32 ACP KelTec P32. Really!:D

ECS

Most recently I picked up a smith model 36(no dash) blued in 3inch with a square butt, which are not easy to come by, a great find for under $400

turns out the KelTec pf9 is pocket-sized, at least in my favorite pants' pockets.

so one followed me home today ... cleaning, magazine acquisition, and much firing to follow!

Walther P1 via C&R license. Put 50 thru her today. No malfunctions. It shot about 4 inches to the left at 15 feet, so I bumped the front sight over pretty far.

Dave, get ready; the PF9 is a true "pocket rocket". Being the smallest possible envelope for the 9x19, "snappy" is a good word. If you have large hands, it may be a bit of a challenge--just focus on an extra-tight grip to keep it from twisting around in recoil.

I'm familliar with small-for-chambering pistols, in fact I sort of have a thing for them.
I learned long ago to shoot with a two-finger grip, and it is just my default setting now, I expect the pf9 will be a snappy little bastard, but not to the point of being difficult to handle.

Range time today if I can squeeze in a quick cleanup of the gun and get moving towards the range!

Dave, that's good. You will be able to appreciate and enjoy your new blaster. I think of mine as a "rat gun", because of its small size and big bite!

My newest piece I traded an AR15 for... I think I came out well. It'll be my new daily carry... MUCH better than that 5 inch gun I always lugged around. LOL

CZ 75 SA Target from the CZ custom shop. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to go shoot it yet.

Hey Dave, one more thing: a slip-on grip adapter such as the Hogue Hand-All Jr can make a very positive difference in how the PF9 handles.
Some people have also used sections of bicycle inner tube to good effect.

slip-on grip adapter
don't want or need, the gun was bought to be as small as possible, I won't be adding anything to it, although I will probably use a fingerless motorcycle glove for extended range sessions.

As predicted, it is a snappy little bastard, but nothing that I can't handle with the factory grip. Amusingly, I couldn't get a reliable trigger reset with a gloved hand, my mongo fingers plus the fabric/leather of the glove were just too big ... not an issue, really, I planned it as a once-in-a-while summer pocket gun or ultra-lightweight vacation gun ... not a winter carry gun at all. Truth be told, I rarely find a situation or outfit I can't just carry a reasonably sized gun IWB, the pf9 is down in the BUG category.
Next up, more magazines, a nicer pocket holster, and a T.I. .22lr conversion kit!

Dave, you found what works for you, and that's all that counts!:)
For me, the most I could handle was 50 rounds at a time. Much more, welts were raised on my hand. After hundreds of rounds through my P11, it was a shock. For the PF9's purpose, though, that was acceptable.
Here's hoping you never NEED it!

Oh, I put on a glove after 3-4 magazines, I just wouldn't add to the gun for carry.

And I dearly hope I never NEED that particular pistol, but it is more than sufficient as a "get off me" gun or a "surprise" for someone with poor victim selection skills. Much like the KT p32**, SIG p238**, NAA mini**, NAA .32acp guardian**, or other little bitty guns ... not something you'd ever WANT in a gunfight, but it beats unarmed by a unmeasurable amount and beats a mugger's contact weapon if you can get it into action ... purely defensive usefulness.

**(bought at various times to remove any excuse to NOT carry a gun when not in a prohibited area, the pf9 just makes a larger one handy, bridging the gap between the true mouseguns and the PPS or larger sidearms ... these days I carry the PPS or a 3.5" officer's size 1911 the most, occasionally strapping on the XD45c heavy! or something more exotic.)

So many options...It's obvious that you have given it all a lot of thought and experimentation.
When I shoot, especially my CC guns, I shoot them first, so they are fired "cold", so to speak, as it would be if I had to defend myself. That's also why I fire bare-handed; if I have time to put on a shooting glove, I have time to beat feet! :D As a matter of fact, about 50 rounds is my max per gun; it seems that the quality of shooting with that gun goes downhill after that, and I'm just burning powder.

Just bought a Sig P238 Copperhead edition Saw it in the shop and fell in love with it. My second .380. I consider these my "wedding" guns, for when I'm well dressed.

Quite the 'prophetic' post for a new member. However, I can't say I differ with you on either the fragility of the dollar/system or, conversely, the utter reliability of the AK (even in the Saiga 12 as well).

-Cheers
