I am a sucker for J frames. I could not resist this unusual 337 AirLite PD, 38 +P yesterday. Weighs 11.1 ounces (!) as pictured. These were made for a few years during the early 2000s, aluminum alloy frame (not scandium), titanium cylinder, aluminum sleeved stainless barrel. The tritium XS sight glows well, I'm sure it was after market. Came with an HKS-36 and an extra grip (Hogue rubber combat). No box. This is actually my first S&W chief's special. I think it was carried more than it was fired. I found dust bunnies inside the grip, she cleaned up nice with a nylon brush and a little Breakfree CLP :)

This is how it shows up in an archived 2002 S&W catalog AirLite page:

    Bought?

I think it was a Ruger PCC earlier this year.

But rebarreling my old Rem 788 in 22-250 was after that. Reaming the chamber, cutting the crown, lapping the lugs, squaring the bolt face, glass bedding the stock, installing a Timney trigger cost as much as a new gun, and I did most of the work myself, with a very competent gunsmith setting the lathe up for me.

No offense, and I expect you aren't surprised that it strikes someone this way, and it's probably why you bought it given you said you bought it "for kicks".... but in the photo that gun is cringe-inducing. LOL It looks like it would be the sorriest POS to ever land in one's paws, possibly even dangerous to fire. Good snag. ;)

Yeah. Two problems, I jumped on it on first sight. Later research told me of the pot metal and that it was way overpriced. I could bite the bullet on the overpriced part but not on the safety factor, and I did want to fire it. Great gun shop, gave me a full refund and it was nice I didn't have time to complete the transaction the day I put it in layaway or it would have been mine after all the paperwork. They were rewarded with my buying several more guns from then since that day only two months ago so giving the customer a break is good for business.

Half the fun is digging up the history of those old 25 auto Spanish pistols.

    (235) CZ 83 380 ACP Pistol Review - YouTube

Regrettably sold a CZ-82 years ago--

but with today's very high prices for 9mm Mak ammo, the 'basically' identical CZ-83, which uses .380 ammo makes a lot more sense.

I’m a sucker for 3rd Gen S&W autos. A 3953 came along and I couldn’t help myself. DAO, and single stack, but I only have one other 3rd Gen in a single stack, a 908, from the “value” line.
The DAO is a departure for me, preferring the DA/SA trigger in the past.

Nice. I am going to check it out in this interesting sounding article:

Just the kind of gun I am attracted to.

Gun show find ...one of the MK IIs that i've been trying to find at a reasonable price.
The 10" are seldom seen around here, but there were three stainless and one blue at the same show. I was lucky to find this one after quickly passing by the dealer who had the other 3 (with GB rate price tags).

I picked up my Colt Gold Cup on Sat (I bought it a week before due to MD's 7 day waiting period). On Friday I bought a used Dan Wesson that I pick up this coming Friday. Today I just won an auction for a 2.5" Taurus 431 (I've wanted a 2.5" or 3" 431 for about 20 years).

I bought an '04 USP V3 through another forum, stripped/cleaned/lubed it, replaced a few parts including the Trijicon sights, and added a rail adapter and a Modlite. New nightstand gun!

Since they are only single shots, I got a box of two. These are working copies of a set of flint boxlock screw barrel pistols in .41 cal once owned by Thomas Jefferson issued by the US Historical Society around 1980 or so.

Heritage 22lr 6.5" revolver with US flag grips plus 22 mag cylinder. Bass Pro sale $129 less $30 rebate. Also had $23 in BP club points so final price was $76. Was looking for 22lr revolver for plinking and just couldn't resist.

I took a gamble on a S&W Model 28 no dash on gunbroker. The gun looked like it had some rust on it and at the price I got it for I thought it would be a good shooter. After some conservation work its not only a shooter but a looker! Now I just need some proper stocks for it.
