What is the last gun that you bought?

Classicfirearms has Swiss 1896/11 rifles listed in fair condition for really cheap so I took a gamble and broke out the credit card. I'd say for about $400 after transfer fee it wasn't a bad price. Kinda let down by the bolt not matching the rest of the serial numbers but everything else was matching. If I read correctly it's a 1904 rifle

IMG_8021.JPG ... IMG_8023.JPG ... IMG_8020.JPG .. Scored a CVA Scout in .444 Marlin a week ago. My LGS couldn't find this combination through his normal distributors and I found one on Midway USA's web site. It was the last one they had in stock in that chambering and it's now listed as "out of stock, no backorder". LGS said I could have it sent to him and he handled all the rest of the transfer for 35 bucks. First time I ever bought a gun online. Been on a single shot kick for a few years and I have always admired the 444 Marlin as a woodland whitetail cartridge. Never owned a 444, but have seen firsthand how it performs on deer. This is the takedown model featuring a stainless 25" barrel with some shallow flutes and a muzzle brake, set up for optics and a stainless receiver with a nice crisp trigger that breaks at just over 3 lbs. on a Lyman digital gauge. Found brass & components online. Undecided on optics but want something with an illuminated reticle since the state now lets me hunt an extra 30 minutes before & after dawn & sunset. Might eventually look into a thumbhole stock. Still unfired but currently assembling some handloads. Here's a side by side shot of a 444 Marlin case alongside a 44 Magnum.. IMG_8045.JPG ..

I got a nice used CZ P-01 Omega. It's a 2022 model. If it was shot, it wasn't shot much. It was traded in with only one mag but it was about $125 cheaper than a NIB model, and came with a Falco brown leather OWB custom holster that on their site lists at $85. I ordered 2 extra mags from Greg Cote and I'm still ahead of the game.

Bought a shotgun since that's what our esteemed leader said I should have. Beretta 1301 tactical with regular stock - added a flashlight mount and flashlight, a sling, and aridus crom rear ghost ring and a red dot. First semi-auto shotgun, I only ever owned pumps and side by sides before. Now I can shoot two warning shots off the balcony then two through the door as he recommended and still have 4 shells left. Want to make sure I'm doing it right for gosh sakes. Can't decide yet how to carry extra shells, hard fixed side shell carrier, elastic stock cuff, pouch, pockets, bandolier, or velcro elastic shotshell cards.

You carry your extra shells on.....the thing..,.?
You know.....the thing.

I don’t know if this really counts but I just ordered a Vudoo single shot barreled action. I still need to source a stock for it but I am on the list for a custom silhouette stock.

Two guns I really didn't plan on. The first is a Beretta 96 .40 S&W the other a New Colt Series 70 stainless. Both with original boxes and spare magazines. Both were $1100 and it was a matter of younger brother wants a certain guitar. I actually already had a Colt Series 70 stainless in the New Series 70 line. I'll likely just sell them since one I already own and the Beretta while nice is not a gun I really want. The Colt was a 2012 manufacture, the Beretta I have no clue. :)

Got to love a heavy barrel on a Model 10! I like the "all business" look of your revolver. Sort of reminds me of my M&P .38 Hand Ejector, 4th Model.

Yeah
That's a fine-looking old warrior you have there. That's a keeper!.
I even considered a lanyard loop for one if my model 10s. Probably the parkerized one.

Remington R1 1911 Stainless, manufactured in Ilion, NY. Just picked it up today. I live nearby, so had to get this as a collector's piece. Don't think Remington will be making 1911s locally ever again. So sad.

I recently bought a particularly nice, well-preserved, pre-owned 3” Ruger SP101, at a local gun store, using their on-line purchase option. (I had handled the SP101, but had no time to complete the 4473 and the purchase, due to a time constraint.) The next day, I returned to complete the paperwork, and decided to kill two birds with one 4473. I asked to handled a Glock Gen5 G26, and found that it had an truly wonderful, clean trigger, so, pulled the credit card, from the wallet, to add it to the transaction.

Hi...
Went on a gun shop tour yesterday with no particular plans to buy anything.
We all know how that plan works out, right?

At the fifth shop I stopped at buried in the back of the bottom handgun shelf was a single action revolver.
Couldn't really see it well enough to tell what it was...kinda dark and the tag was underneath the revolver so I couldn't read it but it looked sort of familiar, so I asked if I could take a look at it.
The wife of the owner of the shop (she actually pretty much runs the place), handed it to me saying we don't see too many of these in here.
Guess not...blued and case colored Virginian Dragoon in .357Magnum in real nice condition. I already own a couple in .44Magnum (one blued and one stainless), but never saw one in .357Magnum before. I missed out on one several years ago in .45Colt because I didn't have enough cash on me at the time and when I went back to buy it two days later it had been sold.

Wasn't letting that happen again, so I put it on layaway. I don't need another .357Magnum but I really like the Virginian Dragoon revolvers and I would just waste the $370 that they wanted for this revolver on utility bills or the mortgage or some other damn foolishness, so now it will get a new home and be passed down to my son when I die...but not until after I shoot it several thousand times or so.

Colt-1911-A1.jpg

First time I've ever detail stripped a 1911, wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. This is a 1942 Colt 1911A1, matching frame and slide, and from my initial inspection all parts are correct and the gun is probably 98% original finish (frame feed ramp still in the white). The barrel is early wartime production, blued, with correct markings and a bore that looks basically brand new. It was issued to an officer who served in the Philippines in 1943, and he took it home and it sat in his closet with the matching Enger-Kress chest holster and a box of ammunition for the next 70 years. His daughter inherited it, and I purchased it from her and her husband, as they don't know much about or care much for guns. They also inherited her father's .22 and a shotgun, which they use to scare the bears away from their beehives. From what I can tell, her father was an ordinary hero who served his country, did his part, came home, didn't talk much about the war, and did his best to live his life until he passed in 2013. Eugene Kane, R.I.P. It's a privilege to own your sidearm.

Virginian Dragoon

.44Magnum

stainless),

Yeah, it doesn't work.

The Mrs. had an appointment out of town so I usually go to the LGS there while she's doing her thing..
I told her where I would be and got the "look" from her if you know what I mean. ;)
Found one of my grail revolvers that I have been looking for for a couple years.

A 2021 Colt Anaconda with an 8 inch barrel.

Left it at the store after hymming and hawing and went to pick up my wife.
We were on our way home and I told her about my find.
She said "Well, did you get it?"

Brake,u-turn and back to the LGS!

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

I have a Virginian Dragoon, S/S in 44 Rem. mag.
It has been good to us.
Passed one up just before the plandemic.
Wife said I should have gotten it as she likes shooting the one I have.

Whoops!

I am not sure if this counts but I have a Vudoo V22s barreled action on its way to be used as a silhouette rifle. I am still waiting for my name to come up the on the stock maker's wait list.
