In your opinion, what is THE most formidable looking carry gun?
No wrong answers....but must be edc carry sized.
Semi auto, revolver, or other. Any caliber, any option.
What would you NOT want to see in your enemy's hand?

If someone was crazy enough to carry this, they are clearly out of their mind, and will kill you given the chance. Far scarier than anyone with the biggest and meanest looking of guns.

Honest answer, I think the 1911 is a pretty intimidating weapon. Big bore, and typically folks who carry them know how to use them. They are choosing a gun with half the ammo of many wonder 9's hold. Capacity? We don't need no stinkin capacity!

Though any gun pointed at me is going to scare the crap out of me.

I agree with GEM: don't want to see any gun (or weapon for that matter, be it a knife, baseball bat, etc.), in my opponent's hand!

Other than that I think any large bore (.40+ caliber), handgun would look pretty formidable!

For myself I think my Colt Officers ACP Model appears mighty impressive from the business end; maybe because the gun is smaller in size but it's barrel looks to be really big!

Smith and Wesson 642 j frame . I know it's not the biggest and baddest but they just look all business. Like it's sole purpose for existing is to fight... or a colt cobra....

To me the make/model/caliber doesn't matter. While I'd be concerned about ANY gun in an enemy's hands, I'm most worried about guns that appear in good condition.

The Glock that looks like it's been drug 20 miles on the highway, thrown off a cliff and spent a summer in a salt water bath? I may be slightly less concerned about that than a good looking S&W revolver that looks like it was taken care of, AND the use knows how to use it.

Idk. A judge or equivalent. The cylinder looks huge and the guy is much less likely to miss. Even if the chance of surviving is greater, it would still be intimidating.

Or an X-frame. If it dont kill you it still has the effect of a flash bang grenade.

One: Any firearm that's pointed at me. Doesn't matter to me if it's as small as a .22 or a .410. Because if you read a lot of posts on this forum, they're "inadequate" for self defense.

Two: I personally wouldn't care if it's a revolver or a semi. If it has a really big hole on the business end, it's scary.

Just trying to think like a bad guy.

I personally feel that the "scariest looking" fiream I own is my Ruger Old Army. Looks like a cannon next to my .38/.357s and 9mms.

I’ve got a buddy that has a throwing tomahawk for a home defense weapon (as well as a few guns), and he’s pretty dang good with it. He says if people break in and you shot one sure they’ll probably leave, but getting shot at while breaking into a house in AL isn’t unexpected. But if you hit the first guy in the head from down the hall with a tomahawk they’ll KNOW they’ve got the wrong house.

That said to answer your question, any large framed revolver, or a Desert Eagle. Other than size being intimidating, I know what they shoot which is also intimidating.
