What is wrong with me?

Presented for your evaluation is a typical American husband and father. Supported in his hobbies by his spouse, and encouraged by his children, he'd often rather have the newest reloading gizmo than be able to afford lunch. He often buys guns simply so he can reload a new caliber. This all seems very normal to him, but the neighbors and close family friends have all noticed his erratic behavior. What he doesn't realize is that he's just crossed over into....

I read that, and in my head I hear Rod Serling

Last Jan I was going through storage and found my Square Deal B that hadn't been used since 1994. Also found some loaded ammo, brass, bullets and primers of the same vintage. It all went into storage when we moved overseas (Navy). Pulled it all out, got some powder and went to town. Two new 1911's later I'm still smiling. Nothing wrong with you at all.

"Come to the dark side Luke." "And may the Force be with you." Welcome to reloading and when you do visit friends with your wife, you can add something new to the conversation. I met up my wife's friends; all her husband and I talked about was reloading for WW II rifles.

I have been reloading for about 3 years. Casting for about a year. I can't seem to help myself lol. This hobby is addicting. I bought another press this weekend, and was able to squeeze it on my bench lol.......barely. My wife doesn't seem as thrilled as I am, but the kids love it.

I've been doing this for 47 years. With luck, you get more organized with time. I mostly keep consumables and small tools/dies stored off of my bench unless I need them.

I started loading when the ex moved out in 1996... over the years the open space left when her car was gone got filled in a little bit at a time with reloading equipment and hand tools...

Keep up the good work. :)

Stay safe.

Reloading since early 2000's. A hand press, then a single stage, then a nicer single stage. Finally a turret press in 2012 and a progressive press this year. Throw in about 4 different shot shell presses and dies for over a dozen calibers. We've all got issues.

"You might just be a handloader when....."

You're in the wrong place for sure looking for any support for NOT buying loading equipment, sorry. Maybe go find a fung sway, minimalist design forum somewhere?

Here's 40+ years of "stuff". To be fair and full disclosure..... this ain't our shop. This is where I go to get the flip,OUT of our "working" shop. So,there are some advantages keeping the two separate. For me it's the peace and tranquility NOT being in the shop. Working now on a compressed airline system for in here. Should be operating at 90psi,hard piped in a few days. Finally gonna trim out the two windows in here as well. The trim has been standing in the corner for only 5 or so years?

So your saying, if I get rid of the wife I can have more room for reloading supplies. I have to give this more thought. I am running out of room myself.

Strange thing happened again. I walked out to get my mail, and there was another box sitting there. Naturally my curiosity got the best of me so I opened it.

Now where am I going to put this???

I am a 20+ year reloader and I have swapped presses out several times but I am up to 2 powder drops, a lee classic cast, a lee Classic 4 stage turret, a 20ga Ponsness Warren press, and handheld stuff to do the very basics of loading 16ga. I have been looking at casting equipment as of late and once the craziness of high demand on all items subsides I will be buying the basic stuff to cast what I shoot most. 38/9mm, 30 cal, 32 pistol cal wadcutters, 223, possibly 25 cal rifle and 7mm as well. It’s a huge investment of space and a decent investment of cash. It will require another press for wherever I put that setup, so that means another bench.

Sounds like a fun project!
