I just thought I would drop a little fluff in to the mix for the fun of it. I'll start with three I would love to own for show.

Colt Silver Dragon 1911

I really like that dragon Colt. Reminds me of Paul Reed Smith's series of Dragon electric guitar. I don't know about that hammer though :p

A nice stainless, maybe black stainless, Loaded 1911 would top anything that shows up at BBQs around here. For that matter, it'd probably be the only gun there.

That's about as "flashy" a gun as I can stomach owning.

My fantasy will soon be a reality. . .

A Dan Wesson 745 (Stainless Steel 45 Long Colt) with a PPC barrel on it. Mine won't have the sights that run the length of the barrel and the grips will be a Pachmeyr (sp?) combat grips.

I've long lusted after this one. A custom 1860 Colt cartridge conversion by Bob Millington with engraving and one-piece ivory. Well out of my price range at ~$4000 and a two year waiting list, but a Cimarron replica could be acquired for far less coin and in only a matter of months.

Unistat, that is on my list of guns to own before I die. I remember seeing it in a magazine years ago. Even when I wasn't interested in guns, I thought that one was cool. It may be a little over done to some. To me it is a great change of pace from the usual flowery vine look of engraving.

How many of those were made?

I agree on that Sears SAA. One of the most beautiful guns I have ever seen.

Here's what I could afford to actually own:

None here. Never found the allure of having a gun just to carry for show and/or gathering attention. Not one for polished or engraving either so maybe that goes hand-in-hand.

Even a BBQ gun has to be shot once in a while. A gun is made to do certain things. Sit in a safe and play queen isn't one of them. Now guns like those I posted might only get shot three or four times a year, but I would shoot them.

I just like some thing with a little more flash once in a while. To me it is a lot like a hot rod or a low rider. It is taking a tool and turning it in to art.

As far as I know, just one. I read about it in Guns & Ammo about a year ago.

I'd like a Caspian Damascus steel 1911 in 10mm ... probably with stag grips.

or a pristine 5" Smith & Wesson Registered 357 Magnum ... again with stag grips (couldn't find a pic).

Nothing prettier then a high gloss bluing, fine line engraving, mounted with stag horn or Ivory grips and accented by a little case coloring.

Oh how I do love the old top break revolvers but alas, it'll have to wait till I get some other less important thing taken care of first. :(

A what? Ya'll are talking about Sunday-go-to-meeting guns.
"...Caspian Damascus..." That isn't damascus steel. It's a finish. Far too regular. Damascus steel doesn't look like that.
