Hi all, i was just wondering what your favorite load is? why is it your favorite? what do you hunt with it, or do u just shoot paper? im sure your favorite is dependent on what you use it for! i will start my fav is 53 gr of imr 4320 with 110 grain soft points out of my m700 for anything west texas offers me! i cant wait for the gun season to kick off!:D

Nosler 180 Partition, 60 grains Reloder 19, 2700 fps, 9fps standard deviation.

I really like the Hornady 220 RN with 55 grains of Reloder 22. This only gets about 2300 fps, but works great with aperture sights and hits game animals harder than anything I've seen out a .30 caliber.

168 HPBT Sierra Matchking in front of 50 grains of IMR4350, Remington 9 1/2 primer. I just punch holes in paper with it... don't hunt with it any more.

165 grain Sierra HPBT. 59 grains of H4831SC. WLR. .30-06 Browning A-bolt.

2700+ fps average. 27.2 ES average. With a spread of 1 5/8" at 200 yards. Did that yesterday too...

man! those are some very interesting loads with some great reported acurracy for severl very diffrent porpuses long live the 30 06 102 and still going for these very reasons i suspect! i just got some 110 gr vmaxes gona see what i can cook up a little later in the week not sure on a powder yet though any sugestions for me to look into? im wondering what the diffrence in the softpoint to the balistic tip will be as far as flight and preformance on game?

It's been many years since I had a 30-06 and reloaded for it. Does anyone remember HI-Vel #2. LOL!

.30-06 National Match Ammunition

1924 FA NM - 46.3gr HiVel 2 - 170gr 9 degree BT bullet - 2694fps - Mean Radius @ 1000 yards = 5.68"

We remember.

Don

For a target load, either in a modern bolt target, vintage surplus, or Garand, 168 Sierra/Nosler/Hornady Match, 47.0 grs IMR 4895, LC cases, CCI #34 primer. OAL LT. 3.30"

Shoots exceptionally well out to 600 yards.

Factory loads? Plain ol' remington 165 PSP core-lockt. 100 yards, 3 shots, one hole out of my 700 BDL. Never lost a deer yet.

Handloads? Still workin' on it. But H4350 is showing good results so far.

Geez, what's wrong with you guys?

Hornady 150 gr spire point, 4064 51 gr, CCI large rifle or Federal large rifle match, seated just off the lands, 2700 fps, 1/2-3/4 MOA from my 03A3 for hunting.

LC brass from ol' USSR, Sierra 155 gr Palma match bullet, Federal large rifle match primer, and 46.6 gr 4895. About 2600 fps and about 1 1/2 MOA from my H&R Garand.

Both loads have standard deviations in the teens.

48.0 of H4895 with a Hornady 150gr SP. Right at exactly 2800fps, and never over 1 MOA in my Sears/Winchester 70.

For deer and antelope I shoot a Sierra Gameking over 57.6 grains of IMR 4350. Excellent accuracy and good velocity. Other bullets that work well include (all 165 grain boattails) Hornady Interlock, Hornady SST, and Nosler Ballistic Tip.
