What knife are you carrying today?

Pretty handy. German Army knife made by Victorinox. There is also a 1/2 serrated blade version. But the serrations are on the front of the blade making it hard for fine slicing. SAK also has variations.

Scooter 22, where did you get that knife? I've been looking for one like it for a while now, but the only ones like it I see on the Victorinox website have serrated blades - at least partially serrated. Thanks for your help. :)

Actually I got it off Ebay way back. Some guy was selling them surplus. He had some serrated and with the plain blade. I already had a serrated but got this when I saw it. I thought the serrations were ground off but SAK shows models with the plain blade so I guess it came that way. I think it was around 40 bucks shipped and in excellent shape. I don't know why they put the serrations reversed from all the other knives you see. It makes precise cutting hard. I don't always cut rope. Search around Ebay. They guy may still be on there. Good luck.

Thanks! :)
I think I found a similar one on Amazon. It's a different color though, and they want twice as much (80 bucks) as what you paid for yours of course. I might get it anyway.
It may be one of the SAK Trekker models that is a new knife. Just look REAL close as some of the pics don't show the serrations depending what side the picture is. I also have a Ranger but it is a little big for EDC for what I need. But real nice knife with the serrations correct.

My standard work knife on the farm, cuts most anything and is handy when using it with one hand especially to shave splinters out or sharpen a pencil. Removed the clip as I do not like the feel in my hand. Was a dealer demonstrator they used for cutting 16# nails with a hammer. IMG_0456.jpeg

Kershaw Scallion Damascus frame lock, every day, in the change pocket of my jeans. I have about 4 of these with standard blades also that I loan out or give to my kids. I have a leek also, which is nice but is too big, and a couple Chives which are too small for comfort and easy handling. The scallion is the Goldilocks onion for me 😄

The CRKT Pilar is my current carry. The Apache was the first CRKT knife I bought.

Most days it will be a Kershaw Blur. It’s the right size for most things, easy to open (and close) one handed and fits my hand. If I want to carry something bigger (and heavier) then it would be a ZT 300 series. Smaller would be a Leek, and if I’m dressing up an expensive Damascus folder with Turquoise bolsters my wife bought me as a Birthday gift because she has problems figuring out what to buy me (She did a good job on that one).
